I know! Wasn't she just fantastic!! It was like she was showing how to do it!! Was she trying to break up the grass to make it more dry for him to stand on, or was she trying to dustbathe?

She was also lucky she didn't give birth in the water, that was a big water line she had on her!

That was my thought Anne-Marie, a bit too close to the water for that little ele affraid amazing to see and I couldnt decide what she was doing with the earth scratch

That was just the most amazing footage, thanks so much for posting it SM. What an incredibly caring mother, how she tried to help him to stand up and digging the ground like she did to help him and encourage him by putting her face next to his, it mad me smile and cry at the same time, just wonderful a truely brilliant mum and an adorable baby elephant, he was gorgous I love you

That was fantastic SM thanks. I really think she was trying to break up the surface as it was grass it was proberbly slippy so that he could get a purchase with his feet. It's amazing the care, and gentleness she showed.
