Holidays booked for this year
I've just booked a week on Islay for Mandy and me,staying on a farm right on the beach.Within a mile of Otters,Golden Eagles and the reason I wanted to go(apart from the distilleries of course)Chough and Corncrake.
Never seen a Chough , though I am old enough to remember hearing Corncrakes as a child in the 1950's.
Then over to Fort William to ride the "Harry Potter,Hogwarts Express",actually it's the Jacobite Express from Fort William to Mallaig.
Planning to visit Jura, which has a population of about 200 people and over 5000 Red Deer, can't wait.
Ferries booked, just need to book the weather now and hope the midges don't eat us alive.

Love Otters, Golden Eagles, Choughs, and Corncrakes. Adore Distilleries. But Midges
Thats a definate NO
Seriously TB, Hope you both have a great time, and the pesky things dont bite you. We have Choughs on Anglesey which is not far from where we live. They are brilliant flyers, but I've never seen a Corncrake

Re: Holidays booked for this year
It's always great to get a holiday booked and then have something to look forward to. If you're speaking about midgies I take it you're going in the summer some time ? There's lots of stuff you can get these days to stave them off and make your holiday more comfortable.
Hope you both have a wonderful time and manage to get some great shots of the wildlife to share with us
