Re: The truth about Lions
Thanks Lai, couldn't you just listen to him for hours. When he was talking about the different Lion personalities and he said some are good hunters, it made me think of our beautiful Red
Also good to hear that he thinks BCD isn't over yet and that hopefully someone else will pick it up and that he would love to be involved in it. If he keeps talking positively about it, it may just happen one day

Re: The truth about Lions
That was a great find Lai. Thanks. Really interesting to hear Jonathan talking about the Marsh Pride, and how long he'd been involved in watching them. I really hope they do something soon with BCD, or as he says that someone else will pick the idea up, and run with it. We will have to keep our eyes, and ears open for when the programe's coming on

Re: The truth about Lions
I won't say too much about this programme just incase anyone hasn't watched it yet but it was most enjoyable with some wonderful footage of our favourite lions in the Mara. There's a particular shot of 3 lionesses 'appearing' from behind an anthill I think it was to warn off a young male, brilliant capture
Quite interesting they still refer to the Marsh Pride as one Pride even though they are split up into 3 different groups over quite a large area and don't seem to ever come together as one - I think I'm right in saying that but someone may correct me. If they do come across each other the females seem to be able to interact and be accepted with each other whatever group they are in but the males it's a different story - makes a change that the women seem to rule the roost !!
Looking forward to next weeks episode and hopefully our favourite lion Notch will be in there somewhere !!!

Re: The truth about Lions
2nd programme also very good, JS is so good at doing this kind of thing.
Very sad to hear of the dramatic decline in lion numbers, as usual caused by humans. If we're not careful lions are only going to be in a handful of places before too long

Re: The truth about Lions
Just caught up with part 2. What a brilliant programme and so interesting, if not a little sad. We all assume that lions are top of the chain and will survive - let's hope we can change this.
It was sad to see Clawed looking so old now - I wonder how long he will be able to survive?

He looked dreadful didn't he Lai, poor guy As frail as that you wouldn't think he could keep going for much longer, especially as getting food is only going to get harder in the coming months
