Managed to watch all the game yesterday afternoon thanks to my work allowing us to watch it on the big telly in the Board Room Razz England played better than they have done but still not great but of course the main thing is they won and are through to the next round. It's funny how often they end up playing Germany but here's hoping they can pull off a win at the weekend Sports Thread - Page 2 768480

Hmmm main thing is we won! I have to say though, I was disappointed. Surely we should be able to get more goals than that against a little country.

I watched the Germany v Ghana game last night and Germany were sure on the razzle, it was a good game so England really need to do even better, they wouldn't have won against Germany last night thats for sure.....Ghana would have beaten them too.

Been staying off this thread for obvious reasons haha but I have to say, I don't think England have a chance of getting past Germany, they're just not playing well enough. And if by some miracle they did, they would most likely then have to play Argentina ! Forget it !

I would just like to point out tho, that I am not one of those "Anyone But England" Scots and I have actually been supporting England in all their matches. I want Spain to win it tho.

What bothers me about England more than anything is really the media and the commentators. I mean the way the media turned against Rob Green was terrible ! The guy made a mistake for goodness sake. The same thing happened years ago when Beckham missed a penalty. The way the media went on was pathetic. You would have thought he was the spawn of Satan.

But I have nothing against the team and I would really like to see them do well (although perhaps not win it as 44 years later we still keep hearing about 1966 haha).

I think unfortunately England will lose tomorrow. But not by much.

Good luck Engurland x

Know where your coming from with the media thing LT, the poor guy made a mistake, he is human and it happens, I felt very sorry for him.

But I am an English girl and I am supporting my country and team to the MAX tomorrow. germany are a really good team and they were on fire against Ghana the other day but then so were Ghana.

I think it will be ENGLAND 1 GERMANY 1 and then penalties affraid and then its in the hands of the Gods Very Happy but I must say David James is good in those situations so I think we will win the penalties.

I totally agree with you Littletoto - honestly we slate people once they make a mistake, we are after all humans!

I am throwing the cat amongst the pigeons here saying this.................but if England don't win (overall that is) i am supporting Argentina cheers i have happy memories of 2 holidays there and it's a wonderful place. Not necessarily a good reason for supporting a team but hey that's my reason.

Anyway - come on England Sports Thread - Page 2 768480

As sambuka said, we got 2nd and 3rd in the European Grand Prix, I hope our boys can continue of that form and take a 1, 2 at Silverstone!! I'm going to be there all weekend and I am so excited!! cheers

I'm just going to have a little rant at football, I apologise now. But you'd think it was the only blooming sport in the country!! How on earth the news channels have failed to mention that the England cricket team won the one day international series yesterday against Australia beggers belief. We have just taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in a 5 match series. Played in front of a sell out crown (well it looked it) at Old Trafford. And to mention it again, it was against Australia! The top ranked team in one day cricket!! Argh!! They don't normally ignore the cricket, I'd be gutted if I was an England cricketer!!

Our footballers are all over paid! Take away their crazy wages and given them winning bonuses!!

Ok rant over!! Sorry!!! Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed
