I think I posted a very similar story the other week Doogs and also about the exhausted Kestrel the other day. It is just so sad isn't it that they have either been blown off course or got caught up in the bad weather.
As the article says, these birds will be looking for food and need plenty of it so for all of us that have bird feeders we will be helping these birds to recover and survive the winter but it is just awful to know so many have died and it must have just been dreadful for them

I heard about this a couple of weeks ag on the BBC news but did'nt get all the story. I thought they might have said something about it on Autumnwatch, but they did'nt. That really sound like a devastating loss of Birds they must have been really exhausted. Our feeders are full, although we are on the west coast so I do'nt think we'll get any od those, but we are ready for anything that comes in
