Up close and personal with the big cats of the Kalahari as they enjoy the cool of evening in one of the most punishing places on earth

Wildlife photographer Hannes Lochner spent two years in the Kalahari documenting nocturnal life of Luna the leopard

During that time he saw her have three litters, two of which survived, but one set was taken by a pack of hyenas

Much of his work followed the leopard's activity at night, when it was safer for her to move and hunt for food

During this time he also documented remarkable night-time pictures of lions, cheetahs, hyenas and jackals

The fascinating nocturnal animal world of the Kalahari has been collated in a new book produced by Mr Lochner

Oh My goodness Doogs, those photos are spectacular and I so want that book. The Leopard pics are stunning but I love the Fox and Mouse one, I so hope he got away and the two owls are just gorgeous, I love the owl in flight one too. It would be so interesting to read about their journey, it looks fascinating. Thanks for the post Very Happy

A big Thanks for this epic share Doogs. I was scrolling through the photos on my phone last night, and they are totally majestic; really awe-inspiring. Leopards really are just the worlds most beautiful animals. So okay then, possibly I'm biased! But really, just WOW Some of the backdrops are extraordinary too. How about the one where it is like stars are shooting all across the sky?

Mother Nature is putting on a show just for the leopard Very Happy

I will have to check all this out again later.
