That is not good news and to say 300 will be captured and handed over to temples is ridiculous. The report even says the are endangered so why capture the young ones and make them further endangered I dont get it

Surely it would make more sense for the agencies to work with them to ensure it is only a head count of Elephants. If the Director of the Wildlife Department says they are not going to capture elephants then it would make sense to work with them to oversee that the elephants are only counted and not captured. To leave them to do the "count" on their own leaves the elephants at potential risk of being captured.
