Re: Post WildEarth Pics
Thanks for clarifying that WS. We are two hours behind SA at the moment I believe, do they no longer show Gowrie dam in between the game drives? That used to be a good cam to watch with the wildlife coming to drink/bathe etc.

This is the TV Shedule, I'm not around usualy in an afternoon to check, but if anyone can get on then, we can see if it really is live. I think they are showing the replays instead of Gowrie Lai

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
Thanks WS - that's a shame though to show repeats, I enjoy Gowrie dam with all the comings and goings. I'll try and check this afternoon.

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
Checked this morning, and your right Lai Wild Earth is 2Hrs ahead of us. The Live Safari Drive was on, it finished at 6-30 am here, 8-30 am there. The afternoon drives should start our time at 2-00pm.
I caught the last 1/2 Hr, and saw these Weaver Birds. They are either the Masked Weaver, or the Village Weaver. I did'nt realise there were so many species of Weaver Bird untill I checked online

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
There are indeed WS - can't quite tell from the pics but they are fantastic birds to watch.
There are over 40 different Weaver birds in east Africa (not sure about SA) so it's difficult to ID although the black head will narrow it down!

Checked with Djuma - Gowrie dam cam and they panned round the whole site. Not even a logodile or ALT (any living thing) but a beautiful serene scene. Now that is really where I would love to be this afternoon

Might be nothing at the Dam Lai, but I just got a couple of shots of this Male Kudu at the start of this afternoons Safari Drive. They are at the Dam now, and there's still nothing around, apart from hearing frogs calling

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
It's getting even better. We now have 4 Rhino
I think I'm getting carried away
WS
PS Wow A 5th Bull Rhino just came out of nowhere, and charged one of the 4. The one that charged in was the resident territorial Bull called Short Horn, and he came off worse with a nasty gouge underneath one eye, and a smaller one to the neck

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
It got even better at the end of the Drive there was this massive Bull Elephant, he was nearly twice as big as the one at the start of the Drive. The presenter said it was one of the biggest he had ever seen in the area

Djuma Waterhole cam - mid afternoon and everyone must be under a shade tree ....
- still lovely to see and listen to the sounds of SA - the camera panned round the whole area. I must try this first thing in the morning.

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
That certainly was a big boy yesterday WS, if he was rihgt next to the jigga he would dwarf it.
I wished I was allowed to have the cams up at work, I would have them running all day so I could listen to the magical sounds

Just logged on this morning in time to see the Jigga stuck down a big whole
It looks quite deep when you see how high up the jigga is against the presenter
