Re: Plant Pot Owl
And she is still in the same position this morning guy's No sign of any owletts and there is nothing on the blog either. I am wondering if the 30th September was a guestimate date or maybe we are just being a tad impatient anyway I will check on PPO later for us all. Here she is in her favourite position this morning.

Re: Plant Pot Owl
I just checked PPO again and before I did I wanted to check out if my reckoning for a hatching was correct, I thought it was 32 - 34 days and for an African Spotted Eagle owl the hatching should happen after 32 days approx, so I checked PPO and nothing, she is still sitting in her fvourite position, so I checked the Blog and heres the latest for us.
Fingers crossed these eggs are viable and in about a week we will have two little owlets.

Re: Plant Pot Owl
I thought she was late on the calculated days, and that there might be a problem. I thought perhaps tempreture, and she needed longer to incubate, but with the one of last years egg not being viable, I think we'll have to keep our fingers X
Thanks for checking LW

Re: Plant Pot Owl
Well we have a different camera angle this morning and I am not even sure the dark blob in the left hand corner is PPO, it looks like a shadow of her but it could also be a shadow. There is no news of any hatchings and I have checked the chat and there is no news on their either of any sign of hatchings. Hopefully the eggs are just a bit delayed and it's not that they are not viable. It could be something to do with temperature WS, I suppose we will just have to sit it out with PPO and wait and see, I do hope all is going to be ok though.
Heres the pot this morning, with or without PPO

Re: Plant Pot Owl
Further update from PPO, she is in the nest
There is no sign of any chicks yet and no news on the chat, however, on Flicker there is a picture of the eggs from last night and a possible pipping, its the dark spot on the egg on the left.
I will try and keep you updated as much as possible.

I hope all is okay with the owletts hatching if they are this late, fingers crossed PPO is just hanging on for a few more days.
Just checked the cam as well, no change

Re: Plant Pot Owl
PPO has just turned round to face the cam and whilst she did she tended to underneath her, couldn't see if it was the eggs or maybe chicks. I looked on chat and they seem puzzled as to whether its the eggs or chicks. Checked the blog but no update a s yet, will keep watching.
Thanks for checking earlier Doogs, what with PPO and Autumn, they are taking up nerly all my time on here, can't stop watching

No change with PPO and she is back facing the back of the pot now, I think the pic I took earlier is the first one I have of her face

Re: Plant Pot Owl
They are saying on the chat that they know one egg wont hatch but they don't know about the other one. I am not sure where they have got that info from as there is nothing on the blog to say so, I am presuming they are saying that because of the time it has taken so far, lets hope at least one egg is viable. As for PPO, she is in her favourite position.

Just checked PPO and no further updates from what I posted this morning. She is as always sitting in her pot on her eggs like a good mum......I so hope at least one egg hatches for her.
