Windy Weather Warning

The wild, wet and wooley weather is upon us again tomorrow (just in time to go back to work ) so everyone batten down the hatches and make sure if you don't have to go out stay inside snuggly warm with a cup of cocoa and if you do have to venture outside be careful out there

I'm glad I bought a new rain coat in the Milletts sale yesterday so at least I'll be ready for the weather

Your right PPH, the weather looks like . Hatches are battened down, heating's on warm Cocoa might let the Boddies breath a bit after coming out of the fridge, and if it gets really bad I might go for a Scotch, and Ginger Ale warmed in the microwave

How did I guess that would be your weather preparations WS mind you I hear that Wales has had 90mpr winds

I totally missed this weather warning so during the night I got a real shock it is still blowing a really hoolley this morning.......luckily the walls to the extension are still standing.....phew Don't think I will be going anywhere this morning, staying tucked up in doors sounds a better option today.

If you are back at work today, drive safely and take great care on the roads, it's quite fierce out there.

My wheelie bin has just gone splat with an enormous bang and sent all the animals crazy......made me jump too

Good idea to stay put today Littlewid, it's disgusting out there, Penny has decided to get lost and so Pete has had to go out searching, he's not too impressed as it's lashing rain and blowing a gale!

I'm off to work soon so will most likely drive and not walk as I don't want to be a drowned rat all day!

Me too hope Pennys OK. We got away with it this morning, but we got hit this afternoon. Everything was OK when we went out, but when we came back at tea time, everything was all over the place. The recycling which should have been collected before we went out was blown all over, we picked up as much as we could in the dark. I'm sure there was more than a couple of empty Boddies cans

Penny was fine thanks, just didnt like the weather so had taken her self off for a visit, Pete found her and she came back a very wet greyhound (I forgot her coat )

Sorry to hear that WS - my mum was having the same problem with her recycling bin being blown all over the place!

Today seems to be calm - not sure of last night's damage yet!

it sounds like we all got through it unharmed, apart from one very wet dog and minor littering

It was so windy down here that the rain was horizontal, thankfully it settled down by the time I finished work so I walked home without getting wet

My mum's here as her electricity went off in the night, so we've been out for coffee to warm her up and home for hot soup and she's into her crossword and books for the day - they say it'll be on by 9.30pm tonight so fingers crossed.

Doogs - she has a small dog and it can't come here as Penny thinks it's a scooby snax.

Anyway she's happy here for now and I'll take the rest of the day off

Good news, her elecs. are back on, so she's left the emergency hostel (our house) and back home hoping it won't happen again in a hurry and that her heating heats the place up quickly!

Thats good news your mums electricity is back on Lai, it's a complete nightmare when it goes off isn't it and especially when it's cold as well. Fingers crossed it stays on and this wind disapears somewhere else......away from all of us, it's been dreadful hasn't it.

We have had the same force of gales as you WS by the sounds of it and walking Nero this evening I have seen a few fences that have blown down.....relieved mine wasn't one of them this time.

Hoping everyone else is ok and heres to a quieter evening today and a better day tomorrow.

Yep it's been nice and calm here today as well. It was a little frosty this morning, had to scrape the windscreen but the sun came up and it's been fairly sunny and very little wind.....long may it last.
