The Weather
I know this isn't animal related but it does give a warning of the weather for overnight and tomorrow, it sounds pretty rough.
There are some wonderful pictures on this link of snowy places, a gorgeous red sky this morning and yep some animals enjoying the snow.

Re: The Weather
I have seen the warnings LW and dreaded the worst up here but it looks like we've getting to get rid of our snow !!!

There are some lovely pictures in your link LW. I've been in an outdoor, heated swimming pool, it's rather bizarre when your head is freezing but the rest of you is warm !!! :o
Stay safe everyone if you do get it bad

Thanks Littlewid. I've just watched the weather and I think the northwest is not going to suffer.

Re: The Weather
We've got a red warning in Wales, but its for Mid and South Wales, just seen a forcast, and it looks like we might get away with the worst of it. Everybody stay safe.

Re: The Weather
It was snowing a little bit down here this morning as I walked to work, nothing too serious. Then during the day it got worse. The picture below is the view from the window of the office where I work overlooking the M40 taken about 11am.
We got the option of taking 1/2 a day annual leave off work but as I am a hardened North Wales girl I decided to stay as thanks to my Girl Guide training I had come prepared with walking boots and socks.
I was finally sent home about 4pm and had a 'pleasant' walk home which funnily enough took me 10mins less than I normally take walking home. The final measure of snow was between 5-6 inches and its still falling

Re: The Weather
Thats a lovely picture PPH and the snow looks deep and the sky looks pretty full of snow.
That was good going, getting home 10mins quicker than normal, must be something to do with those walking boots I bet it was lovely walking in the snow though, as long as you were wrapped up warm! which I m sure you were

Re: The Weather
I have a feeling that the speedy walk home was more to do with not being out in the cold for too long

Re: The Weather
It is funny sometimes living in the Shires when everyone panics about snow and I'm looking and thinking 'if its below 8 inches there's nothing to worry about' I suppose its what you're used too
I did lose my patience with one of my colleagues who I walk to work with every morning. I live a good 40mins walk away from work and he lives about 15mins away so I meet him at his house on my way to work. This morning he was wearing a thin pair of socks and slip on Hush Puppy shoes on his feet. He then complained very loudly all morning, until he decided to go home, on how he has to go home as the snow will be over his shoes and he will get 'hypothermia in his legs'
Funnily enough he was worrying the day before and checking the weather forecast so he knew that we were expecting anything between 3 - 10 inches of snow
I suppose as the well known phrase goes 'there's nowt queer as folk'

Re: The Weather
To true PPH, how daft was that Hush Puppys Dumbo. We got our Boots out yesterday, and we have some grippers that fit on the bottom of shoes or boots for gripping in icy conditions. Perhaps he should have gone to the Girl Guides when he was younger like you did

Re: The Weather
Wow that looks really bad PPH. There are loads of floods around, and it looks as though its going to get worse with all the rain forcast.

Re: The Weather
Sorry I missed your previous snow picture PPH, he is really cute and yes little guy, we can see you
WOW PPH, thats a lot of water, you will need your wellies to get through that. Sadly as WS says, there are going to be a lot of floods with all the snow melt plus there is now lots of rain happening as well, it's not a good time for many at the moment. They are great pictures but it is a shame the road is flooded. You take care.

Re: The Weather
That is the problem when all the snow melts and even worse if you get rain as well. Hope it doesn't get any worse PPH
