Re: Amur Leopard
Thats typical wildlife watching LW. You spend ages looking for something, then somebody comes along, and gets it straight away. I bet Doogs had that happen to her. Great shots Doogs, and as you say wow, have'nt they grown

Must have been 'coming back luck' as I've checked the cams a couple of time since and no sign of any of the leopards Will keep trying though . . .

Re: Amur Leopard
Thanks, littlewid and Lai! :)
I believe what will really make all of us smile is that in a few days Darla and the girls will change places with Freddi (Darla's husband) so we'll finally be able to see the four ladies in all cameras!
From the Estonian forum which I'm a member of, an invitation for the "name giving" party at the zoo:

Ooooh great capture Prin*, well done you
Do you mean that Darla and the girls are getting moved to another enclosure with more cameras ?
Are they going to unveil the names of the girls next Thursday ?
Doogs :)

Just checked the cameras just now and mum is outside on the rocks but it's not clear enough to put a picture on here. The girls are nowhere in sight

Re: Amur Leopard
Hello, Doogs!
Actually, they have names already (Freya, Vlada and Akra), but the zoo is hosting a party to announce them officially.
Sorry, I wasn't clear in my previous post!
The leopard you see around the rocks and in the "creek camera" is Freddi, the father.
Darla and the girls are kept in a separate enclosure, but the room they use as a nest opens to a smaller garden to which there is no webcam, that's why we only seem them via the infrared webcam, which explains the black and white images.
In a few days, though, Darla and the cubs will exchange enclosures with Freddi, so he won't be visible in the cameras anymore, and the four ladies will be seen through all the three cameras (the nest door which now opens to the smaller garden will be closed and the door that leads to the bigger enclosure, the one with the rocks and the creek, will be opened).
Then we'll be able to see the cubs more often!
Too bad Freddi cannot be close to his family, but that's the way of the leopards in the wild.

Re: Amur Leopard
Hi Prin*
Didn't know the cubs had names so many thanks for letting us know.
Aaaaah now it's all making sense !! Didn't know that about the cameras either, so that is most helpful How exciting that we will be able to see more of mum and the girls, that's great news.
Thanks again

Re: Amur Leopard
Welcome to WAA Prin* and what an entrance fantastic photo of the three together, and its lovely to know the Girls are to have names, and to learn more about the family. It will great to be able to see more of them when they exchange enclosures, with their dad, a shame for him, but as you say thats how it is in the wild. Thanks so much for the photo, and news, ww are really looking forward to more of both
