Baltimore City police officers were recently called out on a report that there was a vicious dog on the loose.

Officer Dan W. responded to the call. At the scene, he noted that the dog was a pit bull and that people from the neighborhood appeared to be scared of the stray dog. Many people were even yelling out their windows at the dog.

While he waited for the city’s animal control office to arrive, Dan decided to follow the dog into an alley so he could get a better feel for the dog’s behavior and personality. After careful observation, Dan got out of his cruiser and called to the dog. According to Dan, “the dog came over with its tail between its legs and panting.”

The officer quickly got the dog some water as he continued to observe his behavior. The dog responded to this kindness by licking Dan’s pants.

At that moment, Dan made the decision that the dog was not vicious and that he deserved a chance at finding a home. He loaded the dog into his patrol car and headed for the local shelter.

For anybody who’s ever fallen in love with a pet, you know the bond happens pretty quickly. This case was no exception. By the time Dan reached the shelter, he had decided he wanted to adopt the dog for himself. The dog gratefully responded with a big slobbery kiss!

We can’t imagine a happier ending to this great story! Nice Story . . . . 71418
