GR that is a true piece of adoration for your two gorgeous pooches and if they could read they would just love it and from that you can tell they love you as much as you love them.
Thanks for sharing that with us, I loved reading it

Release The Hounds
I’ve been out there, chasing various fountains of youth
And admittedly if I come back, then it’s partly because those flows have stopped
But there is beauty in the boredom, a forcing of us to internalise
We have stopped, so therefore we ask questions
Like, who really were the ones most there for me, during my 500 days of Summer?
CW; a better outlook on life, a phrase to be aptly shared around
Maybe everything hasn’t been all that Rosie?
And maybe I’ve taken far too long a Kip?
Light and dark matter, but I should question the way that I spend my time and money
From dodgy desirable work practices, to betting on basically baloney
Quick fixes are they, an attempt to fast track the process
Which can never be rushed
It requires patience, like knitting a humble woollen sweater
A task that can provide meaningfulness in both the journey and destination
And I know what such a task is for me; it’s a super dooper serious one
And with that I conclude, that even if recently I haven’t been making hay
That even the most vane of eyes can sometimes see past the grey

Glad you noticed and enjoyed those references
Not so glad about your Icelandic experience, or lack there of! Very unlucky with the weather. You really didn't get to get outside and see ANYTHING at all?
Would you consider going back there and hoping for better?

I posted a few photos under an Iceland thread - yes we saw a bit but we weren't sight seeing but trying for landscape photography and the Northern Lights.
Maybe a return visit although I am leaning towards Sweden and the Northern Lights another year

Re: Forum Fiction - Merry Xmas!
Hi Everyone,
For some reason I woke up this morning and thought of or remembered this forum. Yes, I really totally forgot about it!
So I thought I would check it out again. Remembering that there was quite a lot of good banter, plus I miss the emoticons!
Sorry, I had to do that :)
Anyway, I don't have much to say, but I wrote a short little thing for/about my dogs maybe 18 months ago, so I'll share that now. Hope everyone is happy and healthy.
A Door!
“A door!” I cried as my female pooch rolled onto her back, asking for her chest to be tickled.
A door!” I cried again as my male pooch sat up on his behind, doing his best meerkat impression, asking for attention.
And who could resist?
“A door?” they wondered. “Shouldn’t he be saying “a dog”?
Maybe they have a point.
But no, it is “a door”. That’s what my dogs always make me think of them. It’s an open and shut case.
