Blind baby rhino rescued by wildlife wardens after he is seen bumping into trees and rocks in the wild
Nicky, a rare black Rhino, was seen walking into things by conservationists
Vets confirmed he was blind and he is now cared for 24 hours a day
Now rescuers hope to restore his sight through surgery

Ooooh me what an absolute sweetie I love you and that video of him enjoying his mudbath is wonderful Like a Star @ heaven Well done to Mike and his team for rescuing little Nicky, he definitely wouldn't have survived long out in the wild No Here's hoping they can raise enough money for him to get that cataract surgery to restore his eyesight cheers

Isn't he just so cute I love you and you could see he was really enjoying his mud bath but the story really does tug at your heart doesn't it. Rhino have a soft spot with me and Nicky is just so special and very handsome too.
The article annoys me a little though as it says to donate to Lewa click here and when you click on the here, it just brings up the story again, you can't donate to help Lewa and Nicky and thats so frustrating. You can't help to save every animal but some you just have to try and for me as I can't get to these places and volunteer I do like to donate to various causes and animals as much as I can, so I feel saddened the article led you to believe you could donate when you couldn't. Just had a brainwave though Very Happy find the address of Lewa and contact them, my job for this evening.

Thanks for that WS, much appreciated. The brilliant thing is, I donated 15 minutes ago and since then 3 other people have also donated to Nicky. He is well on his way to $50.000 and if he gets there crowdwise will donate $50.00 too. Fingers crossed for Nicky.

Thanks WS a lovely clip of Nicky getting the mads after his mudbath and such good news that he is safe and being cared for, I do hope the op is a success. At DSWT in Nairobi they have a blind rhino and he is happy and well looked after.

Going to look at the donation link now.

Hello Halftail_Lover

Welcome to WAA, it's great to have you here.

I am not sure why you can't access the video via your iphone, maybe its something to do with your phone settings.

As far as I can find out Nicky has not had his surgery yet and they are still collecting donations for him but they are going extremeley well, you can check out the donations on WS's link above for crowdrise.

Here is the link to Lewa that gives information on Nicky and the donations.
