Elephants of the Mara and Meru, Dec. 2012
Some photos of the elephants I came across on my recent trip to the Mara North Conservancy and Meru National Park. It is fairly easy to see where they were taken as the Meru ellies are brown in colour, due to the soil, and the Mara ellies are the normal grey colour!!

I keep saying ,spectacular, amazing, wonderful, brilliant etc etc Safariman but those are magical ( might have said that before as well ) they truely are. To pick a favourite out of those is really hard as they are all so special in their own way, but if you were to push me for a fav by saying no Latte and cake tomorrow if you don't choose one, I would say , the cow ele, she looks as though she is smiling but you are so drawn to her by her eye, it just draws you in, it's so soft and gentle but appears to have a twinkle in it as well
It's lovely to see the difference between the Mara eles and the Meru ones with the colours. You sure know how to take a pic of an ele and it was also great to see the Wildieboys as well

Fantastic photos, and captions once again Safariman thanks. My favourite is Mum pushing the baby up hill, I think thats a really great shot. I wonder does the colour come through the from the plants they are eating, or are there any salt licks thay they use that it could come form ?
