Re: New Baby Rhino In The Land Of Oz!
Gorgeous photo of a baby rhino, I wonder what they will name her?
I hope she can be reared successfully as poor Sisi losing 3 previous calves is very sad news indeed.
The rest of the article on poaching it tragic though
Lai
ps. GR you weigh less than 69 kilos you need more sauce on your pasta

I know it's not an attractive outcome for me to be soooo skinny! But I have long joked good naturedly that I should have been born a woman; if so I'd be a smoking hot super model
And I would make 'onesies' famous the world over
Gregoryette the Onesie Model. And imagine the commotion I would cause when I step onto that catwalk - unbeknownst to me - wearing a onesie suit that has been reduced to a single button! Camera's would be snapping with crocodile fury and Leo would become famous for his button fetish

Such a cutie lets hope all goes well for her, it is so important with all the poaching and decline of the Rhino. I love her name to, Victoria is a pretty name and I think Rhino have such beautiful faces.
Yes you do need to get to the zoo GR and see her for yourself and take lots of lovely piccies to post on here
Mmmmm I second more sauce on the pasta the image of Gregoryette has had me

Hmmm... Perhaps by next weekend I will be overdue another zoo visit.
Also with the Werribee thing it's just an evening visit in a months time (open til 8:30pm), but where I got confused is that they do advertise a slumber party that you can win for yourself and twenty or so friends. It's a special one off thingy/prize; not just something you can choose to do.

Let's hope that travel costs are included to get my friends to Werribee!!!
That zoo is probably just over an hour drive from where I live, but I feel like I will go there on one of these upcoming weekend days
Must remember to charge my camera batteries

Re: New Baby Rhino In The Land Of Oz!
As mentioned elsewhere, unfortunately I didn't get to see the little cutie pie yesterday, but maybe in the future I will. It is expected to be about two months until it is out on display; the reasons for all of this is that the keepers are hand feeding it because the mother has lost her last three little ones. So that this one comes through to adulthood.
I will be going back there soon for sure, with wild nights (or evenings) starting in nineteen days time. I will probably go for an afternoon and then stay for the evening, as in the afternoon I can make it like a normal visit, then focus more on the servals (special show that is on) and marshmallows

I bet he is being kept under wraps until he is strong enough to be shown to the public and the wide world. Let's hope he is okay and survives.
Great news that the evening visits start soon GR and an even better idea to go in the afternoon and then stay on for the marshmallows, mmmm I mean evening visit

Re: New Baby Rhino In The Land Of Oz!
Sunday might be the best day for me to go as I have a grandparents anniversary celebration on July 6 (I think it's 60 or 70 years, either way ), and another Saturday I may have to work.

That's a shame you didn't get to see the cutie little tootie but understandable why. Hopefully he will be big enough and strong enough to make himself known to the public in a few months time and you'll be there to see it all GR
