421 species - including mammals, birds and plants - have become extinct over the past 200 years
Wildlife experts have launched the largest ever online portal of information about the vast number of species which have disappeared from the UK
Species Recovery Trust, which is behind the Lost Life Project, hopes that by publicising this issue they can help prevent a further loss of biodiversity

That's a very depressing article and so sad to see how many species have been lost.
Strangely we saw a Red Backed Shrike whilst at Sarara camp. I now realise how lucky we were

I didn't realise that so many species had been lost, I knew it was bad, but I didn't think it was this bad, and the sad thing is it's happening all over the world as well
