Galloping Horses!!!

Not really to do with wildlife but could not resist taking these photos.
A traditional travelling funfare pitched-up on our village green last weekend. It had old fashioned rides and stalls, some dating back well over a hundred years and still in perfect working order. The decorative artwork on the rides was incredible and a fantastic example of the artisan artist, the whole village green was a blaze of colour in the sunshine. The photos below show the Galloping Horses ride. It was great to see a traditional working funfare that was not in a museum or theme park but one that took to the roads. It only stayed two days before moving off to its next pitch and leaving our village green empty but in pristine condition.

  SM Not seen one of those for many years. That brought back so many memories, lovely to see the gallopers, and they look in such good condition, and that must take so much work. Brilliant that they left the green in such great condition, and a testament to the old ways. Your photos really do it all justice as well
