Brilliant Doogs!
You can really see the power in their muscles. Racehorses have a physique all of their own.
Look at the length of Culcabock's bottom eyelashes!
Thanks for posting them.

Re: Horses
A lovely thread to have SM, and a brilliant place for Doogs to put pics of Lance Thanks for posting these extra pics pics Doogs, Culcabock is so cheeky and boy Tonto has such a serene face.
Brilliant video SM. I know i've been riding in the past alot and there are some real racers on here but seeing those beautiful horses just running free with wild spirit, it makes me wonder if thats how they should really be. I'm not saying that to spark a right or wrong debate, it was just seeing them so happy it made me wonder what they really want. Plus I think of them carrying us on their backs, maybe i'm just an unrealist wuss who would wrap all animals up in cotton wool

Re: Horses
Great thread. Sadly i have no photos of my horses i used to have in the 90's as i didnt have a digi camera and only have photos of them.
Needless to say i thought they were gorgeous!
I will post a few of the horses from the riding safaris. Mostly polo ponies and thoroughbreds - fantastic to ride.

Re: Horses
Thank guys,
The arabians are the most graceful creatures on four legs. That is why they make the perfect dressage horse.

Re: Horses
The loyalty of an Arabian Horse is second to none. The Arabian is frequently used in Dressage not just for the elegance but also for the learning ability. The video below demonstrates this:
Enjoy!

This is a newborn offspring of Taskin, a Gypsy Stallion owned by Villa Vanners of Oregon ..
These pictures were taken immediately after his birth on April 6.
The mare laid down, and then he trotted around and crawled right up into her lap

Re: Horses
Those are gorgeous photos Doogs - what a handsome horse Lance is. I would have put money on him as I go on looks, numbers, names etc and not form!!!
I bet it was a wonderful day. When is he next running? I am hoping to win £££s on him (no pressure)

Re: Horses
Thanks Lai - he looks a completely different horse to when he came in from his summer holidays. Gone is that big belly which has been replaced by muscle and a very fit looking horse :)
He'll run again at the end of March then his target is the Highland National at Perth on 29/04. Don't worry I'll let you know when to part with your money, which should be the 29th as that is the big aim and we're looking for a good run from him then

Re: Horses
This is a lovely story about a well know racehorse who was retired last year due to injury. The injury was that bad no-one expected him to survive. But his owner, a Mr David Wesley Yates wouldn't give up on this gorgeous grey and sought advice from around the world on how to treat his star horse, he would not allow the horse to be put down without a fight. And fight is exactly what MG did, he did it in his races and he's done it in retirement, against all the odds he's survived and on the way to a full recovery. He returned home to his stable in Greystoke, Cumbria earlier this month. Well done on Mr DWY on not giving up on his boy
MONET'S GARDEN , the hugely popular grey who has been fighting a life-threatening hoof infection, is back home at Nicky Richards' Greystoke yard.
The 13-year-old triple Grade 1 winner has been treated at the Oaklands Veterinary Centre, in Cleveland, since late last year but vets felt he was ready to return to Greystoke after making a steady recovery.
"We've had a lot of very dark days over the past few weeks but this was fantastic," said Richards, whose daughter Joey looks after Monet's Garden.
Speaking at Kelso racecourse, Richards added: "You could feel it put a bit of a bounce in everybody's step. As you can imagine he is a firm favourite at Greystoke.
"Joey has just rung up and said he is in his box, down rolling and acting the goat a little bit, but he will settle himself down. He is having a talk to his neighbour in the next box, wondering how things have been going. Not very bloody well!"
The outlook was bleak for Monet's Garden when he developed the infection in his off-fore hoof after winning the Old Roan Chase at Aintree for the third time in October.
In early January owner David Wesley Yates said it was "very doubtful" Monet's Garden would survive but that he wanted to give his horse every chance to recover. He defied the advice of two vets to have Monet's Garden put down when the infection was diagnosed.
The grey was fitted with a special shoe and treated with antibiotics, but he came off the drugs in late January and his continued recovery encouraged vets to send him home.
His return to Greystoke was a boost for the yard following the loss of Money Trix, another of Richards's popular grey staying chasers. The 11-year-old, owned by Craig Bennett, suffered a serious injury in Saturday's Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown and had to be put down.
"It is very hard to take when that happens," Richards said. "Craig was very upset. We took him to the university veterinary college there and x-rayed him, but it was clear that the best thing to do was put him to sleep.
"It's the hardest game when that happens."
