Re: Horses
Well there was a bit of excitement yesterday with regards to our syndicate racehorse Outlaw Tom - He WON !!!
He was running at Hexham and this was his first win as our horse, he was just brilliant. I was at work and kept checking the racing results for his race until it finally came in and read 1st Outlaw Tom I could believe what I was reading and then I promptly burst out crying Thankfully the girls who sits beside me in the office know how passionate I am about my horses so she fully understood ! I didn't get to see the race until about 11pm at night as I went straight to Debenhams from work but it was well worth the wait, our jockey gave him a fantastic ride and Tom was just awesome It's a wonderful achivement for our syndicate

Re: Horses
Well our horse, Outlaw Tom runs again on Sunday at Kelso. Same distance as his last race, 4 miles but he coped with it last time so why not again ?
The race is a better class of race than Tom has been running in, he will be up against horses that are rated higher than him so as a result of that he's got a light weight on his back (10 stone 3lbs as opposed to when he won last time out he was carrying 11 stone 6 lbs). If he puts in a good, clear round of jumping you just never know
Race time is 2.30pm on Sunday
Tom Tom !!

Re: Horses
Just caught up with this thread. Well done Tom what a great result and lots of luck for this Sunday at Kelso. Everything crossed for another 1st and a safe journey round the track.
I'll try and check out the race.
Keep us posted Doogs.

Re: Horses
This is a worry. I hope it doesn't reach Scotland Doogs and that Tom stays safe.

Re: Horses
Gosh thanks for that link LW. Never heard of Atypical Myopathy - a very worrying illness as it is so fatal.
Well Tom ran on a rather cold but dry Kelso on Sunday. He completed the course finishing a very gallant 7th place. The step up in class was too much for him so he'll now get a good break and run sometime into the New Year.
The main thing was not the winning but that both Tom and his jockey Campbell both came back safe and sound
