How mad was that? What an amazing pony not to complain and mess around at the station!

Re: Horses
It’s been a wee while since I’ve done an update on my racehorses and there’s some good news and some bad news.
The bad news is that both have been retired from racing due to injury. The good news is that although they will never be able to race again they are both fit and healthy enough to live out their remaining years.
Identity Parade went back to her breeder in Ireland, was covered by a stallion and is now in foal, I’m sure she’s going to be a great mum next year
Lance (Mr Preacher Man) is living out his retirement with a fellow retiree from the Racing Yard. Both are being looked after by Ali, the girl that looked after them and rode them out when they were racehorses. Ali will take good care of the both of them.
As a result of Lance going into retirement our Club bought a horse at the Sales a few weeks ago called Outlaw Tom. He made his debut for us on Tuesday night at Southwell. He led coming over the last but was pipped on the run in by another horse , it was soooo close !! It was an excellent run though and I’m sure we’ll be in the winners enclose in the not too distant future.
Heading down to the Yard on Sunday to see him so lots of photos will be taken at the weekend !!
Here's a couple of him at Towcester on Tuesday - before he raced in the Parade Ring and then him finishing in the race, you'll see how close he was to winning (Tom is in the Orange)

Re: Horses
Sorry to hear they have been forced to retire through injury Doogs.
Wow that was really close Doogs. I can see you in the winners enclosure already!

Re: Horses
Fingers crossed with Outlaw Tom Doogs - and although it's a shame about Lance at least he will have a happy retirement. Looking forward to updates, and great the Identity Parade is in foal, another potential

Re: Horses
Well our syndicate horse OUTLAW TOM runs at Perth on Thursday (30/06/11, 3.20pm race). I've managed to get the afternoon off work to go down and see him run. It's quite a competitive race he's in but he's got a e/w chance (to finish in the first 3). We'll keep our fingers and toes crossed that he runs well but the main thing is that he and his jockey Pete come back safe and sound

Re: Horses
Well our boy ran a gallant race to finish 4th. He was carrying top weight of 11st 12lbs which took it's toll late in the raced as Tom was running 3 miles
He's back home in his stable, had his tea and is grand. He'll now be given at least a month off to freshen him up, he deserves that

Re: Horses
Looks like our boy is going to be running next Friday back down at Southwell. If he does, will let you know for sure nearer the time
They have changed his routine slightly of late and he is out in the field for a few hours in the afternoon with his equine friends. He is apparently loving this and it has shown in his work of late :)

Re: Horses
Unfortunatley our boy ran very flat today and was unplaced
He'll now be given a good break to recharge his batteries and hopefully run better next time out

Re: Horses
Just been catching up on here Doogs, I didn't realise Lance and Identity Parade had been retired. I remember the gorgous pictures of Lance. I hope they both have a wonderful and long retirement.
Outlaw Tom looks very handsome and I am sure he will get the 1st your looking for, he looks very fit and seems to be taking that fence like a breeze

This is a simple little blog on Arabian Horses. The latest update is that one is about to foal, so following it to see the little one when born.

That would be great to see it when it's born, they're so cute and mischevious when they're young.
