South East Region Empty Esher Common - Surrey

Post  Laikipia Wed Aug 04, 2010 3:09 pm

Esher Common has over 3,300 species of fungi. Together with adjacent Oxshott Heath it is an SSSI and one of the country's important fungus areas.

Esher Common's mix of heath, plantations, ancient woodland, grassland and bogs help make it the best place in the UK for fungi. Things not to miss, Anemone Stinkhorn - only found here. Velvet tooth, Cauliflower Mushroom and Fly Agaric.
