Lovely photos TB, we are lucky to have that kind of scenery up here in Scotland :) Not so sure about the Adder though
Well done you Lai for the flower spot, you are good at them
Hope you have got the suntan lotion at hand for the Donkey's WS, can't be letting their ears get burnt, bless them Beautiful day up here too :)
Good weekend down in Glasgow/Ayr. My friends fajitas were very yummy as was the Indian we had on Sat night Up about £20 at the races, Ian did better than me with 3 winners so he had to buy the tea
Have a good day everyone

Same here with the weather - it's wonderful , just seen the forecast for the weekend and it should reach 21 on Sunday, summer already. Only problem is the bluebells are suffering and looking like they need rain, but you can't have everything!
Glad you had a good weekend Doogs, and well done with the racing, at least you were up.
Have a good afternoon/evening everyone.

Safari Maiden wrote:Lovely location TB. You have glorious scenery and countryside. I think I say a male adder last year at Stanwick Lakes. It was on the path basking and as we approached all I could see was a black flash disappearing into the thick grass. We were unable to find it.
Are there any animals/reptiles etc that you know are in an area but have not seen?
SM
I know we have Polecats in the area as I've found road kills, but finding a live one is proving difficult, they being nocturnal. We also have an otter on the burn that runs by our village, found the foot prints and the spraints, but not seen one of those either.

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
TB that would be brilliant if you could spot them. I assume it would be more difficult to see polecats this time of year as the nights are lighter compared to winter, or is that too logical?
I love otters, it think they are fascinating. Always have you camera ready, just in case.
We are supposed to have munk jack close to us, but I have not seen one.
Keep us posted.

Most Polecat/ferrets are hybrids as the wild pole cat is too small and keep vanishing. When I was learning my falconry,my job was in charge of the ferrets when hawking. We tried polecat ones once, but they were a bit too rabbit colooured and a Harris Hawk killed one of them, expensive mistake that was.

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
Not a nice mistake TB. Can't blame the Harris Hawk but sad for the Ferret, they are lovely animals. The three that live next door are so friendly and just love a cuddle but yes, these are not wild Ferrets or Polecats, not sure if a wild one would be as friendly and easy to handle.

Apparently wild polecats leave a musty scent not unlike a skunk, been getting a few funny looks from neighbours when I'm sniffing gate posts and other prominent spots they might scent mark!!

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
I bet you do TB. The three next door also have a distinctive smell, it is a musky smell and not a horrible overpowering one as lots of people think but my cats definiately know when I have been giving one or all three of them a cuddle. They are all due for a bath so I am sure they will not smell as strong as they are at the moment.

Looks like wall to wall sunshine across the country today which is most unusual for a holiday !! Hope, if you are off, that you are all enjoying it
Lay off those eggs Lai or you're not going to be able for any on Sunday (and there's a joke in there itself that I didnt realise until I typed it )

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
The weather's been great today after yesterday when it was cloudy all day, and cold. Been driving around the coast in the Add/ Mobile with Mrs S. There's loads of holiday makers, and it's really good to see them all enjoying themselves in the sea, and on the beach. Not enough room on the beach's we visited for a Hare TB

Belated Happy Easter everyone.
Glad you've all had a good time. We had a fun day with friends coming over in the afternoon, far too much to eat and a lot of sitting in the What could be better?
Today we've woken up to mist but hopefully it will burn off.
Have a great day.
