Re: 'African Cats' - Disneynature
Read a message posted by Jonathan Scott on FB that we are now not getting this film in our Cinema's until February 2012 !!! No idea why but it's very disappointing
My sister is going to New York in November so I'm going to ask her to get if for me on DVD when she is over there

Re: 'African Cats' - Disneynature
The best thing about flying Kenya Airways ... I got to watch African Cats I nearly didn't watch it because I wanted to see it on the big screen, but I ended up watching it twice. I'm now glad I did.
It will be worth the wait ... however you must take tissues as I ended up sobbing like a baby on the plane. Luckily it was dark and I could hide under my blanket.

Re: 'African Cats' - Disneynature
We were told whilst in Kenya that it is now being released in February in the UK because Tusk are doing a big premiere thing with William and Kate attending. Don't no anymore than that at the moment and can't remember who told me but someone who knows (I hope).
We saw a book at Rekero and Naboisho on the making of the film which looks good - no doubt available on Amazon. It's called African cats (Disneynature African cats) by Keith Scholey.
Lucky you Anne-Marie - good to know we need a box of tissues with us.

Re: 'African Cats' - Disneynature
Exciting if it is February Lai, fingers crossed it will be but at least we may be able to get the book through Amazon.
I checked the DVD status out with my cousin and unless we have DVD's that have different area changes on them, we won't be able to watch DVD's from the States, they won't play, so before anyone goes ahead and gets one, please check your DVD player first to make sure you can change area/region.

You're welcome Doogs, I would hate anyone to spend out on one and then not be able to watch it, that would be too upsetting.

Re: 'African Cats' - Disneynature
That would be annoying LW
That's probably the best idea SM, do they guarantee that if it's bought via them we can play it in the UK ?
Thanks

Amazon.co.uk DVD have to play in the UK as it is a UK based site, but I would stress that would be buying from Amazon directly. I would not use their market place facility as that is from anyone!

Heck how annoying, mind you April will soon be upon us I suppose. Thanks for letting us know Doogs and it was great to watch the clip again and it does remind me that I am going to need loads of tissues I think as I'm sure there are going to be some real hairy moments in the film.
I have also signed up to get a reminder email and notifications of it showing in a cinema near to me, so thanks again for the post Doogs

Re: 'African Cats' - Disneynature
Wow! They still haven't even shown this in theaters there yet! I wonder what the hold up could be? I pre-ordered the DVD/Blu-Ray combo back in October (also got The Lion King 3D to go with it!) here in the States. It will be worth the wait for sure. The first time I saw it I didn't know for sure the "actors" were old friends but once you see the film there's no doubt. They even lifted a few scenes right out of BCL. I'm sure you'll notice them. Can't wait til you all see it so we can discuss it more, I loved it.

Re: 'African Cats' - Disneynature
I've been desperate to see the likes of Shakira, Notch etc etc on the big screen so it's so annoying we've had yet another set back.
You're combo DVD sounds great. I went into the pictures to see the Lion King in 3D not long after we came back from the Mara, loved it (again !)

Re: 'African Cats' - Disneynature
Hi everyone, I was snooping around youtube today and decided to look for the song they use in the trailer for African Cats, I just kinda like it, and I found this video someone made. It's the full song put to clips from the movie. I don't think there's anything to spoil the movie so I deemed it safe to post as something that might keep you going until it's released "across the pond". I think again the poster did a very good job. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Now having said that, the next link I found someone has put the whole movie on youtube in six parts. The following link is to part one at least until or if they make them take it down. DO NOT CLICK the following link unless you want to see the whole movie before they release it over there. But, if you just can't wait, here you go!

Re: 'African Cats' - Disneynature
Great find Ronnie
Love the first clip, the music is great and the clips of the lions & cheetah (Shakira & the girls ) are just brilliant
I too am going to resist temptation and wait for the film to be released on the big screen. I thought I was getting an early birthday prezzie last year by getting to see the film on 22/04 (my birthday is the 23rd) so fingers crossed it comes true this year and we get to see it on 20/04 - only a year later than expected

Re: 'African Cats' - Disneynature
I have to admit that after watching the first video it confirms something I've felt for awhile. Though I'm still not ready to declare a favorite cat I must admit that I think probably the cutest thing God graced this Earth with has to be a tiny cheetah cub! Don't get me wrong, all the little ones are cute but something about the little cheetah cubs is just too much!
On the second, I surely don't want to spoil anything, hence the warning, but, at the same time when it popped up I had to give you the option knowing whats been going on. Still don't understand the hold up.
Doogs, your birthday is April 23rd? Mine is on the 28th. I guess two hard headed Tauruses we must be!

Re: 'African Cats' - Disneynature
Cheetah cubs are just adorable Ronnie and it's long been an ambition of ours to see some whilst out on safari. As yet, after 4 attempts, it still hasn't happened but it does give us the excuse to keep going back until we do
