Re: Who is this?
This is very good news! Somebody has to recognize this girl and with help there on the ground we may finally really be getting close to an answer. Hopefully the internet connection will be better this time and he will be able to post to his blog. I wonder what the people who shot the video would think if they knew how much effort was being put in to getting an ID on the leopard they filmed!

Re: Who is this?
Aatish has commented on his Blog, that He's found out some more info on Siri, and the two Cubs. He is going to email me all the info. Still waiting for the info, but I'll keep checking, and post as soon as I hear anything.

That sounds good WS. I'm still waiting to her back from Kichwa . I expected to hear back from the by now but nothing yet. Probably time for another prod.

Re: Who is this?
Give it a couple of days Ronnie, to see what info Aatish comes up with, there may be some stuff that you can pass on to Kircha that would make identification easier. As soon as I hear from Aatish, I'll let you know.

Re: Who is this?
The search goes on. An email today from Aatish
Hi WS,
Hope all is well. Regarding the leopard (Siri), i have spoken to some of the guides/friends here and we have no positive ID on her. If she ever crossed onto musiara sides, that must have been the leopard i saw last year in july. Unfortunately since she is from the triangle side, no one from the nark side would have a positive ID on her. We crossed over to the triangle side near kichwa to see if we could find her, but no luck.
Will keep you updated if anything comes up.
Regards
Aatish

Re: Who is this?
WS - Great that Aatish is trying to find Siri but how frustrating that as yet no ID for her.

Re: Who is this?
Now we've heard from Aatish Ronnie, it might be a good idea to contact Kircha again, and send a copy of the pic I took of Siri off the Video, it might just give them a nudge. I'll also ask Aatish if he can suggest any other camps we could contact

Re: Who is this?
I still haven't heard back. They may be our best hope. One of their guides was there when this was filmed. Somebody at Kichwa knows this leopard. I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet! Looks like time for a nudge!

Not quite yet Lai. Ronnie, and I have'nt given up just yet. I've sent Ronnie the pic I took, and enhanced to show her markings, and he is going to contact Kircha again, as he said one of their guides was there at the time. I'm also going to contact Aatish once he's finished his latest visit, to see if he can suggest any more camps we could contact to get an answer. Starky, and Hutch are still on the case

Re: Who is this?
Doogs - that was a brilliant reminder. I loved Starsky and Hutch and had a real crush on Starsky, or was it Hutch? Anyway it was the dark haired one in that highly dodgy looking cardigan! That takes me back a few years

.Just read the next update 7th May, not caught up with the other one yet.
This bit caught my eye straight away. I wonder if it could be you know who
There is a beautiful female leopard that had her two cubs in this area and was often seen on the beautiful rocky outcrops and croton thickets. We caught up with her on 3 occasions and watched her with her 8 month old male cub. It appears as if she may have lost the other cub. She had a Thompson’s gazelle kill in a Boscia tree. There was a big male leopard in the area too. This particular female is young and beautifully marked – in perfect condition with clean ears and no signs of the fights that territory holders of both sexes engage in at times.
The fact that she had two cubs, and one was killed fits in, also the cub is 8 months old, and when Aatish saw the video, he estimated that the cubs then were around 3 months old, and that was in Jan. So add on 4 months, and the age's about right. She was seen around the Pump House area, so I'm not sure how that fits in territory wise
Lai how do you fancy joining Starsky, and Hutch, and emailing our photo of Siri to your friend Johnathan to see if it's Siri
The Good news is Lai has agreed to email Johnathan, and I'm emailing her a copy of the pic of Siri, and she wants to join the team of Starsky & Hutch.
Apparently she wants to be Charlie for some reason Still if thats what you wish Lai. Welcome to the team Charlie
