Birds of the Masai Mara, June 2012
For a change I thought I would post photos of some of the wonderful and colourful birds I came across during my trip to the Mara in June.
Lilac-breasted roller, the photo that everybody takes when they visit Africa!!
Wattled plover
Grey crowned crane
Bateleur eagle
Little bee-eater
Verreaux's Eagle Owl
Black-headed (Village) Weaver
Tawny Eagle
Male Red-collared Widowbird displaying
Arrow-marked Babbler

Safariman, all lovely, beautiful shots of some of the birds you can see out in the Mara. Although I'm a 'cat woman' myself I do appreciate the many birds that are out there and it really must be a bird spotters paradise at times.
All stunning shots but especially like your Verreaux's Eagle Owl and your Tawny Eagle

Safariman. Some beautiful bird photos there. I love birds so am always trying to get some photos of them. East Africa has some really stunning birds.
I know the LBR is the one every takes a photo of, but they really are so magnificent with all their colours.
Thanks for sharing.

OH MY, what stunning pictures, I too love birds, always have and always will. I adore the Lilac Breasted Roller and also the Little Bea Eater, such stunning birds and gentle to look at but I must say the one that has truely stollen my heart there is the Verreaux's Eagle, what a stunning, stunning bird, those ears and eyelids but there is just something magical about him
All those shots have something really special about them safariman and I have been scrolling up and down really taking them in but I keep coming back to the most stunning Eagle.
Thanks so much for them, really enjoyed seeing them

Really great photos again Safariman. I love the ones of the Raptors, and LBR. I really like my Birds to, and I've managed to get a few different ones off the Web Cams on here at Petes Pond Sabi Sands, and Africam, that Lai's helped me identify, but I would really love to go to Africa, and get some real shots. Thanks for sharing them with us
