Re: Signs of Summer
Chester Zoo is one of my most fave place to go Lai, I have many fond memories of visiting it as a child and always try and visit when I come home to see family

I've not been for a couple of years PPH - but love the Meerkats there. It will be a fun day out with the added attraction of some practising with our cameras

Re: Signs of Summer
I have never been to Chester Zoo but I do get their newsletter and would love to go. Hopefully one day I will get there. I have seen their programme on the tele when they were following a little Lion cub.
What a brilliant idea for Ian's birthday Doogs, I bet he will be really chuffed with that, I know I would love that kind of pressie.

Re: Signs of Summer
The beautiful Wild Meadow photos were a vast improvement from the slug photos (and I don't mean the quality of the photos Lai )

Re: Signs of Summer
I noticed yesterday afternoon some House Martins flying into their nests to feed their young, this seems late and I really hope the little ones will fledge safely and survive before they fly south in September/October.

Re: Signs of Summer
Thats really late Lai, Mrs S saw some young Greenfinch's on our feeders on Saturday. I'm afraid with the reports for the weather this week, your young House Martins, are really going to struggle to build up enough reserves for their journey

Re: Signs of Summer
That was what I thought WS and it will be really sad if that happens. We have far less House Martins this year than ever before and they are such fun birds to watch, always chatting away and swooping in and out of the eaves.
Perhaps this week's weather is just a glitch and by the time they fledge it will be again.
Hoping your little Greenfinches stay safe too.

Re: Signs of Summer
Really hoping these little birds stay safe. Tooday has been dreadful here, we had torrential rain overnight and yesterday evening and the wind has been horrendous all day and its blowing a gale out there tonight, it really isn't nice at all, so fingers crossed all these little birds are ok with the drastic change in weather.
