All I know is that is a wonderful photo, the gorgeous blue sky and sea, it looks like a summers day and that is a beautiful bird, the photo makes me want to have an ice cream WS.

Winter plummage Black Headed Gull,red bill helps.Mediteranean gull has a red bill,but only commonly found on the south coast of England.
The Black Head(it's actually brown close up) is breeding plumage.

Yes in breeding plumage the head is actualy more of a chocolate brown colour
