Re: Who is this?
No more news at the moment Doogs. I'm thinking of trying to contacting Sarah Skinner from Wild Adventures, to see if she can throw any light on it

Re: Who is this?
Hi everyone. I've asked Kichwa Tembo if they can help with the ID. I couldn't find a FB page but did find their website. I asked in the general contact section so we'll see if I get a response. I figured we might as well ask as they are the camp closest to the area our cat was seen.

Brilliant Ronnie, sounds like a promising answer, and I think if I remember right. It gives the location of the video on the link. I feel we are getting closer.

Re: Who is this?
I've sent a PM, and an email to Sarah Skinner as she is a member, with a link to the video, explaining who we have asked, and all the details we have, to see if she can help. She looked in on the forum, the day before yesterday.

Re: Who is this?
I received this e-mail this morning.
Hi Ronnie,
Thanks, have received your email.
I’ve sent this to our ranger team in Kichwa Tembo, and am awaiting their reply.
Will keep you updated.
Enjoy the rest of the day,
Larien Spies
They've got the video now so hopefully one of the rangers will be able to ID her. That's a good idea WS. The more people we have looking at the video the more likely to find our answer. Gotta get ready for the Friday grind but at least this is my weekend off.

Re: Who is this?
I still have not heard back from Kichwa Tembo but I did not really expect to hear anything this soon. I have had some interesting comments on my FB post though. Onesmus Ole Irungu thinks he might recognize her. He will look at some of his pictures and see if he can ID her, but it seems she may not have a name yet. If she is Id'd and still remains un named Siri has been planted everywhere! I hope we are finally getting close to an ID.

Re: Who is this?
Lots to catch up with on this thread, it's all a bit of a mystery by all accounts but I hear that Starsky & Hutch have been on the case I will have no idea who the Lepard is but I am looking forward to catching up on all the clues and info so far

Re: Who is this?
Yes a bit early yet for a reply from Kircha, by the time they have managed to ask all the Rangers. Sounds promising from Onesmus though, he does have a good knowledge of the area, and takes some great photos. Keep watching this space LW, we may get to name our Leopard yet

Re: Who is this?
It would be wonderful to find out which family this is, but fear it may be a long shot and the mystery will continue!
Fingers Crossed Kircha come back with good news.

Re: Who is this?
The rerun of BCD they showed today on Animal Planet was the one where the two males come in and kill a hyena, Solo is doing well and Shadow is defending her cub Safi from the male with the injured jaw. About 9 minutes in to the clip I've posted if you can pause it right, You can see a good shot of Safi's face left side. This is the best match I've seen so far to the leopard in our video. If you have the series on DVD it is much easier to see. I paused the episode of BCD on the TV and then paused our video on the computer side by side and the markings on Safi's left side and our mystery leopard are the closest I've seen. The video I posted really only can give you a reference to what I'm talking about. If you have BCD on DVD find the scene I reference in the video and see what you think about the match. I'm wondering if this could be Safi. Granted, in the BCD footage she is only a cub , but the markings are very similar in my opinion. If anyone has the series on DVD please look for the scene I'm referring to and see what you think. The video I posted is really just to show you what to look for, the resolution is much better on TV or DVD when paused to see the markings I am talking about. I'll try to see if I can get a screenshot of what I saw and post it but it's gotten way too late tonight to start that now.

Re: Who is this?
I have'nt got the DVD Series, took a shot of the screen, and this is the best I could get, but I'm going to try it on my PC, instead of the laptop, I can play about with the shot on it

What year is series 3? All the series are on Netflix at the minute, 1996 - 2008. We're having great fun watching them all :)

Re: Who is this?
Just checked series Three Episode 7 Part A is showing as October 96, and shows the clip Ronnie is talking about, although its not the one Ronnie looked at it's the follow up. On You tube its about two minutes in, not sure on the DVD. I think if thats the correct date, it would be a bit to old for Safi, she would be around Zawadi's age
Cleaned the pics up a bit now

Re: Who is this?
I have to agree that after looking closer the markings are close but not the same. You can see the four marks behind and above the eye are what caught my attention. I was catching up on the shows from today (now yesterday) before turning in for the night and I just sat up and paused, rewind, play, rewind, play, you get the picture! WS, seems you and I decided on almost the exact same time to grab a pic!

Re: Who is this?
Thats exactly the same shot I got Ronnie, but I cropped it to make it bigger, and I had to do the same thing kept replaying till I got the one I wanted. I can see what you mean Re the marks, but as you say close, but not the same. Good try though
