Stop Killing Them Empty Stop Killing Them

Does India deserve big cats like the leopard?
Another two leopards beaten to death in India in 48 hours. Please keep on signing and sharing this petition. We need to make them see - the world is watching and doesn't tolerate this anymore!

2011 - 356 leopards were killed in 365 days in India.
2012 - the number of dead leopards is even increasing.

Most leopards are killed due to poaching, speeding cars and slaughtered by angry villagers.

The cheetah was the first big cat to get extinct in India, the tiger still is very much endangered, but in the way it is going now leopard will be the next big cat to get extinct in the wild in India. Unless.....

We can convince the government of India that it is the time for them to start acting now. Let them show us they are capable of saving the remaining leopards in their country. Together

WS it is a sad part of human animal conflicts.....

there were couple of such incidents like this...but there are also a good lot of people who love nature and every living entity in them

the basic problem that india faces today is the growing population which establish their territory into the forest lands and the dwindling forest areas means reduced prey so predators naturally look for easy meals such as livestock sometimes even humans Sad resulting in conflict..

it is sad...and we should do something to stop these killings....

I suppose it is trying to find the happy medium. Just as it is in Africa with conflict with lions -v- masai.
Sad that anyone or anything might loose their life in this way. Crying or Very sad

Signed.Thank you for the link.
And I completely agree with radhu. It is the increasing population here that is causing so much man-wildlife conflict. Since we are encroaching upon their territories for human activities or due to expansion of cities and towns it is slowly becoming usual to hear of leopards entering into human settlements. There have been cases of leopards entering the area close to where my school was. When such a thing happens people only care for human welfare and try to chase away the leopard beating it with sticks etc. I feel as though they don't care the least bit about such a majestic animal.

It's as you say Radhu, and Wilderness, population numbers are the main problem, and somewhere for them to live without encroching to much on wildlife habitat. It's a problem thats being faced all over the world, even here in the UK wildlife is suffering because of our erosion of their habitats. It's different when you have predators who can take human life, and it's understandable that people react to danger to themselves, and their famlys. It's the planning, and forsight of where we establish the places where we live that needs sorting out, and untill there's a worldwide governmental appreciation, and desire to do something about it, these sort of things are going to happen. Wildlife exists, we exist, the secret is to co-exist, and as Radhu says there are more good people in this world than bad, we just need to make our voices heard where ever, and when ever we can by signing petitions like these.
Thanks for signing Guys & any of you Guests who are looking in, and signing
