The day seems to have flown by and it's dark already but managed to get the dogs into the woods before the light went.

Enjoy your evenings, we're out so recording Strictly Littlewid, I loved it last night, so will watch tonight once we're back. I think Gavin and either Scott or Matt will go ....

I saw Strictly in bits and pieces last night Lai as I was getting Buck, I saw Gav dance and sadly he wasn't so good, Matt was brilliant I thought but the judges had it in for him again, Kara was amazing but Craig is being boring and not giving her a 10, cant remember if I saw Scott but yes one of them will go, it should be Gav really....I don't want Pamela to win but I am sure she will, I want either Matt or kara.

Good morning everyone

Hope you've all had good weekends. It seemed to rush by what with Strictly getting very tense and I think the right results don't you Littlewid? Looking forward to the final now next Saturday and the 4 dances they've all go to do!!!

Pete and I are back up to London tomorrow for the next talk at the RGS with Jonathan and Angie Scott on the Truth about Lions. It should be great and we are hoping to catch up and say hello after it - no doubt more books to buy which I love.

The next door village had their street party yesterday evening which was fun, lots of carols by the church, stalls with goodies (and some delicious cup cakes) a brass band and plenty of people. Hoping next year the Council are sensible and agree to close the road!

Fingers crossed the snow stays away - are you okay up there Doogs or are you snowed in again?

Sorry i've been a bit slack today. I can't get on the site at work...well the odd peek when i'm feeling brave and this evening I had both nero and Buck at the vets for their vaccinations. Luckily I picked my mum up so she could give me a hand as Buck can't hit the ground yet until he has had both jabs. So I have been really behind this evening catching up with stuff, so sorry if I miss any posts tonight.

Sounds like your up for a good day tomorrow Lai. I hope you do manage to catch up with Jonathan and Angie. It will be lovely to hear what they have to say at the talk.

Our village has a party at christmas but I must admit, this year i'm not sure which day it is, which I must find out as we do close the roads into the village....I don't want to get shut out do I Your evening sounded lovely Lai...I would have made a bee line for the cup cakes....I love them

Yes the Strictly finals, I'm really looking forward to it. I was so pleased matt won X-Factor on Sunday and now I am hoping that either kara or Matt win this weekend. Pamela has done really well but one of the others really deserves to win. It was the right decision with the other two but I must admit I am a tad sad that Gav has gone. He tried so hard and did improve but he just didn't match the others

We are predicted more snow for Thursday, I am so hoping they have got that wrong, I don't want anymore. I know Scotland has also been predicted more snow so I hope Doogs and TB are ok.

Hello everyone and good to have you back Doogs, sounds like you've been mad busy, i was exhausted just reading what you've been up to the 40th sounds like fun though with a bit of pampering and staying in the hotel overnight - very relaxing oh I mean

I hope they are wrong with the weather forecast, it looks like we're all in for more snow pretty but a pain in reality!

The talk with Jonathan and Keith Scholey at the RGS last night was wonderful. We bumped into Jonathan in the bar beforehand which was nice so had a quick catch up, he was very excited that he had recently seen Zawadi, who is now 14, an amazing age for a leopard, but time was short so we never saw Angie, and at the end there were so many people wanting to meet them we didnt even try to find her.

Jonathan talked about his new series which i think is in two parts "The truth about Lions" we saw lots of clips on all the big cats and I think it will be a great couple of programmes, sadly I've no idea when this is going to be shown. He hopes BCD may one day be back but said no more than that!

Keith talked about the new Disneynature film and showed a few clips - he is a man with great humour and we were lucky enough to meet him both times we've been to Rekero. He talked about how he met Jonathan and his time in the Mara with BCD. The star or villain of the film is of course Notch, named Kali for the film (which means fierce in swahili) with a female lioness and her cub and of course Sita and her cubs.

They didn't take questions as it wasn't an interview just the two of them taking it in turns with their talk and clips. As ever, over far too quickly, we could have listened for hours. It just makes you want to be in Africa.

Hey Doogs it's good to have you back but you make me feel dizzy just reading what you've been up to and and what you are going to be up too but it sounds as if you have and are having fun which is lovely, at least you did manage a little respite for yourself

Lai the talks sounded wonderful and oh how I would love to visit Africa even once, the only Africa I have been to is North Africa.
I'm with Doogs, I know it's a Disney film but our handsome Notch being portrayed as a baddie Notch is a darling mind you I cant wait for the film to come out and i'm also looking forward to Jonathans programmes as well.

Mmmm christmas cards......I have mine but I need to write them. You are all so good at having done yours, I need to pull my socks up and get on with it, at least I do have all my pressies, even though they are not wrapped yet

Glad you like Buck Doogs, he is a real sweetie and Nero and him have been slowly getting to know each other. I will introduce him properly soon with some pics. Some friends of mine popped in this evening with their female Spaniel Ruby...Nero's girlfriend, she loved him and Buck loved her and my friends fell in love with Buck too, they are considering having a litter of puppies from Ruby....that would be exciting

Oooo lets not talk snow it causes such a hassle. Hope everyone stays safe and warm if we do get any though.

No white stuff here, we had a little last night and woke to a mega frost but they are predicting it for tomorrow, like they are everywhere

I must behave myself tonight and get my chrissie cards written so I can post them tomorrow else no-one is likely to get one and thats not good

Oooo WS that has a real christmassy feel, just love it. Your lounge looks gorgeous with the tree and all the lights, I love the candle holders on the window sill. You and mrs S have worked hard with getting it all so festive. The snow just makes it the business doesn't it. Thanks for sharing that with us.

We've had plenty of snow to Lai, but I think we can still get out Fingers x. The problem is with the forcast knowing if you can get back especialy where we live, as there's no public transport or anything as we live in the lanes. Hope everyone has a good, and safe day

I can't believe it's that time again Littlewid - hasn't the time flown by? My mum is coming over for the first Strictly show but wants to go home for the results later. The snow's not too bad but the drive is like an ice rink and outside her house is slippy so she tends to panic a bit.

I agree in order of preference, Kara, Matt and then Pamela - although they have all been FAB-U-LOUS dahhling - oooooooooooh I just love Craig

yep was sooooo pleased that Kara won Strictly and Matt was a brilliant second, now looking forward to the Strictly Christmas Special

Just want to say, sorry if I go a bit quiet on the forum but my uncle was found dead at home last night. We had been trying to get hold of him for a couple of days without luck so had to get the Metropolitan Police to go round, they had to force entry and sadly he had died. We now have lots to sort out and without going into detail it's going to be a long job, so my time may be a bit tight for a bit but I will be around as much as I can, but it's also been a huge unexpected shock and i'm a little shell shocked at the moment.

On the same sad note, SM has had to fly to Ireland sooner than expected as her Stepdad died on Friday. He had been poorly for a while but his loss wasn't expected so soon. So SM will be away for a bit but has told me this evening she will be back as soon as she can.
Our thoughts are with you and your family SM and travel safely.
