Re: Planet Earth Live
Thats why I checked the Meerkats Lai, I too was hoping it may be the Whiskers, it doesn't say these are a breakaway group but you never know but then again there were a few groups of Meerkats in the Kalahari so they may be a splinter group from a group we do know something about.
Yep, nothing is going to detract me this evening, everything will stop for PEL

Re: Planet Earth Live
BGT is on sky+ Lai but all I want is PEL to be on, just cooking my tea so I can then settle down and not get up for anything.......Nero will have to cross his legs if he wants to go out ........only kidding I wonder what it will start with this evening, it doesn't say in my TV mag whats on first, so that again is leading to the excitment
Have fun watching everyone.

Re: Planet Earth Live
I loved watching this tonight and it was great seeing Dr Rogers again
My only problem is does Richard Hammond have to mention before every segment how precarious life is and how the babies may not survive and how upsetting it might be.

Re: Planet Earth Live
I loved the programme too and I think it was a great opener and you couldn't help but fall in love with little Gremlin plus I was on the edge of my seat with Moja and I can't wait for the next one.
I think Richard Hammond is just so excited about it all and probably can't quite believe he is at long last being able to be involved in something he has had a passion about since he was a small boy. Presenting a wildlife programme is not his usual thing and maybe as time goes on he will settle down a bit but I liked the way he didn't take everything for granted as if he had seen it all before, I think thats where his constant warnings came from, it was as if it was the first time wildlife had been presented live, I think he did a good job.
My heart was in my mouth a little over Jewels cubs though when they were up the tree in the snow, so what a relief to see them the next morning snuggled up with mum.
A great start to the series I think.

Re: Planet Earth Live
I loved the programme and it ended far too quickly for me. I guess RH was just preparing people for the harsh reality. It isn't all Disney out there and although he might appear a bit over enthusiastic I think he'll get into it. It was wonderful to see Jackson on the tv again.
Roll on Wednesday and the Meerkats as well as more on Moja and her mum (nail biting stuff, I could hardly bear to see her looking so thin).
As for the bears, that was awful to see the poor little things shivering away in the snow ....
A great programme and I know I could watch it at least twice a week forever

Re: Planet Earth Live
Great link with all the 'stars' of PL you posted on the previous page Lai, will check that out in more detail once I'm finished here.
Well I think I was bubbling within 10 minutes of the programme starting - poor little Moja was terribly thin and it wasn't nice to watch Great to see the bears we know in Canada and I agree Lai, horrible to see those little tooties shivering in the cold.
Little Gremlin was adorable
Can't wait to see the Marsh Pride . . . . .

Re: Planet Earth Live
Great programme tonight but far too short at only half an hour. My heart was in my mouth at one point with the Otters but wont say too much as others haven't watched yet. Looking forward to seeing more of Jackson, he was on for a short bit this evening.
Can't wait to see the meerkats

Re: Planet Earth Live
Well the show has certainly kept us in suspense with regards to Moja and his mum - I'm sure a few of you will already have read but the rumours on FB are that Moja's mum is infact TAMU !!! Looks like we are going to find out tomorrow who she is and even if it is not Tamu it certainly sounds like it is a lioness that we know. It would be wonderful if it was her, we shall just have to wait . . . and wonder !
Loved the family of Otters and it was sad they have dwindled from 6 pups to 2 but here's hoping the remaining ones make it.
Little Herbie falling out of the tree thankfully he was fine, phew.

Re: Planet Earth Live
The programme was too short and too much jumping from one place to another, I know I'm being critical but you are just getting into the storyline and then they jump to the other side of the world!
It's being slated as a programme of course, but you can't please everyone all the time! For me I enjoy the wildlife they are following, especially Moja and as you say Doogs if it is Tamu that would be so exciting. Sadly Jackson was only on so briefly and didn't really get to say anything.
Roll on tonight, we're in London so Sky+ing it -

Re: Planet Earth Live
Lai you were just getting into something then off they went to something else, half an hour was not long enough. We still haven't seen some of the animals they are going to cover (i.e. Marsh Pride, Polar Bears etc) so goodness knows what they are going to fit into half an hour once we've got all the animals they are covering on the go

Re: Planet Earth Live
This is on for an hour tonight so it should be better. Half an hour was too short and they should have stayed in one place but I suppose so much is going on they want to cover it and share it. I have heard people moaning saying it's not live but it's hard to film from Kenya with the time difference and when they did that with BCL using thermal imaging it was interesting but not the same as daylight hours, so I think it's better to pre film and then show, at least the presenting is live. I am enjoying it and can't wait for tonight and for the reveal of Moja's mum......wonnder if it is Tamu.

Re: Planet Earth Live
The whole programme was amazing like Doogs, I wont say anything but I was amazed, on the edge of my seat, heart in my mouth, lots of smiles and doing hoops over the fact they are following the Whiskers.......loved it, loved it, loved it and I couldn't quite believe the hour was up, fastest hour I have known for ages.
