Kiko is in one of his favourite spots this morning.......sitting on his mat Giraffe

he looks a little bigger but I reckon he is still quite tiny really.

I thought Kiko looked a little rounder and slightly taller sitting down this morning. I wasnt sure how fast they did grow but I found this little bit from the African Wildlife Foundation.

Nursery groups of young animals are left alone together during the day while their mothers feed. The 6-foot-tall calf grows rapidly as much as an inch a day. By 2 months the young giraffe is eating leaves and at 6 months is fairly independent of its mother. A young giraffe can even survive early weaning at 2 or 3 months. Although few predators attack adult giraffes, lions, hyenas and leopards take their toll on the young. Scientists report that only a quarter of infants survive their first year of life.

So Kiko would definitely be taller now.

Eagle Eyes take a while to develop GR.......WS is the oldest so really he should have the best eyes on the forum......i'm just a young pup in comparison Giraffe Cam - Page 10 40683
