Re: Kip, Rosie and Tamu
thanks WS and Doogs. Rosie doesn't listen to Pete when he says get down she just looks at him and seems to grin quietly to herself, knowing that I don't care
I agree Doogs, it is funny what some dogs do and some dogs don't. Happily Kip and Tamu are happy on the ground (well for now )

Rosie's theatrics sound very grin-inducing Mrs Kipia
How has your patient been coping thus far since the op?

Re: Kip, Rosie and Tamu
Not so well now GR, as poor Rosie is wearing the 'collar of shame' to stop her licking her foot. The bandages came off last night and it's a neat amputation of one toe. It needs air and to dry out but no licking so the only solution is her lampshade. She hates it and we hate it, I am covered in bruises and she is banging into everything It's awful but has to be done, if the stitches fail she has no skin available for more. Greyhounds have ridiculously thin skin.
Anyway the stitches come out next Thursday all being well and then hopefully gentle exercise ( that is a laugh, she is hard to keep quiet) and Rosie will be 100% again or 95% as she is one digit down!
Thanks for asking G R

Re: Kip, Rosie and Tamu
That all sounds very traumatic Lai, especially that you are covered in bruises
But you still are able to finish off your post in a relatively positive manner
Sounds like you are having to go into mode Mrs Kipia, and are doing a good stern job with Rosie. that all turns out well in the days ahead.
Maybe on a more positive note, how has Kip been going recently? And is it hard for her to deal with Rosie's condition?

Re: Kip, Rosie and Tamu
Kip is totally wonderful and full of licks, yuk they make me itch but she is just an amazing dog.
On a positive for Rosie, Pete found and ordered on-line a gortex sock for Rosie which lets the wound breath. So he called the vet to see if it was okay and Rosie is without the 'collar of shame' and sporting a lovely blue leg with matching pink bandage to keep it together. She is much happier (and so am I) and all being well this should work. I've adjusted it 3 times so far, so her circulation doesn't get cut off, me and bandages!
Pics of all 3 dogs over the weekend, I feel sure I can get them all together

Re: Kip, Rosie and Tamu
Pete for finding the Gortex Sock, it sounds as though Rosie will feel a lot better with that, rather than the lampshade solution, fingers X it will keep the stitches safe till there due to come out. Sounds like Kip's a real bundle of fun, and love Lai. If you cant beat them, join them lick her back

Re: Kip, Rosie and Tamu
It sounds as if not much is going to get Rosie down......apart from the dreaded lampshade but it's gone. They are are annoying things aren't they and especially for the animal concerned, so I bet she is loving her new Sock......Well Done Pete
Kip does sound adorable, if not a live wire and I for one am so looking forward to seeing more pics of the three of them together

Re: Kip, Rosie and Tamu
Great to hear of all of Kip's kisses Lai, and that we shall have some more pics coming our way soon
Wonderful to know that Rosie's world is a lot better again now too But there was something that occurred to me...
I bet that is the only way that Pete can ever get away with telling you to put a sock in it!
GR
P.S. WS is right! Kisses must be returned in kind

GR - that is probably soooooooooooooo true!
Tamu up close and personal - and wanting to have her picture taken
Rosie flat out basking in the sunshine, sporting her new gortex sock with fetching pink bandage (and what is left of a desqueaked toy).
Kip ........................... no way she was going to lie or stand still

Re: Kip, Rosie and Tamu
such lovely pictures Lai. Tamu is one stunning girl, that really is a wonderful photo of her. Dear Rosie, she really does look as if she is in sleepy heaven after moving in with you, Pete and Tamu and her sock and bandage is very fetching
Bless Kip, she is the dog with ants in her pants I reckon

Re: Kip, Rosie and Tamu
Thanks Littlewid, and you are so right about Kip, Kiplet, Kipule et al. (She has many nicknames already )
Tamu and Rosie are the chilled pair, who have formed a pact now and poor Kip is the outsider, but as the alpha female Tamu and Rosie have had to reach a truce now and have formed a slightly dodgy peace treaty oh I do love these dogs

Maybe soon they will let Kip in to the girls club but then again maybe Kip enjoys being an individual and you never know, if you adopt more then maybe kip will start her own girls club

Re: Kip, Rosie and Tamu
oh no not more, Kip is in big trouble and disgrace, yesterday afternoon we went out for 2 hours to take my mum round a garden that was open for charity.
We came back to find Kipmonster had chewed the corner off what used to be a nice table I am hoping it was the weather than upset her and not feeling bored and neglected!
Having said that I am just researching a dog day care centre nearby for when I have long days, rather than relying on someone to pop in and also in the cold bleak winter I can't leave the door open all day. It looks lovely so I'm off to check it out soon.

Re: Kip, Rosie and Tamu
Uh Oh furniture chewing We had a dog called Sam he was a cross between a German Shepherd, and a Lab. He his way out of the house, and when he was outside he eat his way back in again, got loads of stories about him, but to many to put on now. Might put it on a sepaerat thread when I've caught up with everything. Hopefully it's just a one off Lai, and Kip will be accepeted by the others soon.

Re: Kip, Rosie and Tamu
WS - Sam sounded like a handful. In fairness they have accepted her completely, it's just funny to watch Tamu and Rosie. I hope it was a one off and think it may have been the thunder, she's quite jumpy about it whilst the other 2 aren't so maybe it was a nervous reaction whilst we were out.

Mmmm I swear I am cracking up This, along with some other threads I could have sworn I had posted on them recently but it would appear not - no posts, no proof - oh dear !!!
Well done Pete for getting that Goretex Sock for Rosie, good thinking batman Love the picture of her lovely blue leg with matching pink bandage, so much better than having a lamp shade on and it certainly shows with that rather chilled out photo of her lying on the grass Tamu has got such a sweet, gentle face
re Kip's antics when you were out, oh my goodness fingers definitely crossed it was a one off.
That is 3 lovely new pictures of 3 very happy, dogs, they look great Lai

Re: Kip, Rosie and Tamu
Thanks Littlewid, WS and Doogs, I am a little obsessed with my dogs at the moment and taking pics of them as they are all such fun (and hard work).
Sadly Rosie's gortex sock hasn't been a huge success in principal a good idea but we went to the vet to have her stitches out last night and her foot was quite swollen it seems the bandage holding the sock on was too tight we have to admit that Pete was the last one to do this and I think got it on too tightly so the vet is a little concerned now at the swelling. He redressed it after taking the stitches out and she is going back again this afternoon to check the swelling which hopefully has gone down after 24 hours and a gentle walk on the lead.
On a plus, the histology (soft tissue) has shown it was plant extract (mmmmm she came with a bad foot, perhaps something was lodged in it and instead of coming out grew in) so no tumour we are thrilled and so relieved. We are still waiting on the bone result but it seems it was just as a result of something being lodged in her foot.
Greyhounds have such thin skin and delicate feet you wonder how they race but thankfully it looks as though Rosie is on the mend, and Kip although having had 9 teeth removed before we got her is able to eat providing we soak the dried food first and she has small scoobies

Re: Kip, Rosie and Tamu
Rosies results look good Brilliant. S:Shout: hame about the sock being to tight, it's one of the things I learnt it first aid, to check the tightness because of the blood flow especialy at night time when at rest, but hopefully it will have come down now. Dont blame you for being obsessed coming with the three of them. We are to, so keep the pics, and the news coming

Re: Kip, Rosie and Tamu
that is excellent news Lai, you and Pete must be so relieved, what a weight of your shoulders, couldnt be better news
Also brilliant that Kip is eating well with fewer teeth, to be honest dogs often do manage ok, they love their food so will always give food a good go as long as they are not in pain.
with WS, we are obsessed with them too, so the more pics and news the merrier

Some lovely pics here Lai, especially of Tamu. Such beauty!
A little about Kip with the furniture - she's got one up on Leo there - but wonderful to hear that the rapport is still there, with nicknames piling up
That's a relief about Rosie and no tumor Hopefully Pete and you (and of course her bestie Tamu ) can get your RVW on again now
