Strictly 2013

Taping strictly tonight as I will be out. Im hoping that the judges are nicer to Rachel tonight and I hope she has a better dance routine and costume.

I will be watching it when I get back in I expect, if not tomorrow.

I'm not sure who I'm routing for this week apart from Dave and Mark because I love them both, but I agree about Rachel.  I bet it will be a great night being Halloween

I think its great that your mum really gets into it Lai  Strictly is such a great enjoyment program. I didnt forget to record it so this afternoon I will be sitting comfortably watching it before the results tonight.
I too am hoping Mark and Dave did well and Rachel too..........looking forward to my Strictly afternoon

Caught up with Strictly this afternoon and im sorry to say but I think Dave may be the one to go tonight, it wasnt their usual fun standard but I would prefer him to stay and Abbie Clancey to go........why on earth do the judges think she is soooooooo FAB U LOUS. I dont understand that, she got better marks and comments than some who danced better than her........im confused  
Rachel did really well and Mark was brilliant as always......still loving Sophie and Brendan

Oh dear somehow the results show was all wrong to me. I love Dave to bits but I think he was not brilliant this week and certainly Rachel shouldn't have been in the dance off.

For me Fiona should have been in the dance off and gone - MEOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

He results were definitely wrong Lai, no way should Rachel havebeen in the bottom two, and even though I am not a fan of Abbey she didnt deserve to be there either, it should have been Dave and Fiona. The public are nutty, I can see why Dave had been saved before because he was funny but its now time for him to go as good ones are going to loose out, as normally happens. In his defence though, he did look very surprised that he wasnt in the dance off, so you have to give him credit for that. Lets hope next week the public do the right thing.

I will admit that I did have a bit of a shout at the tv last night when Abbey and Rachel got in the bottom two. Poor Rachel she did so well and as you've said I do love Dave but it is at that point now that he should go

Seems like us Strictly girls are all in agreement with this one  lets hope next week is the right result. My mum is also a big strictly fan and she too says it was the wrong result, she was rooting for Rachel.

Actually she is apparently the best dancer, and has won four of the vote offs so far, but I think Tina Arena (you know the singer?) won highest judges score the other night. Libby Trickett is in it (a very famous swimmer and lovely positive person, well she is always smiling  ), plus Steve Hooker (the Olympic pole vault champion), so a good mix. This must be about series ten! Mum has always adored it. I'm surprised she hasn't got all the DVD's of them! There was one judging controversy the other night when Libby got 8 from 3 three judges but only 4 from the other. He believed that she hadn't kept within the guidelines of the dance she was meant to be doing.

Man, this dancing caper is tough!

No I don't personally - the series runs for about 13 weeks anyway which even being a keen fan is a long long time

  brilliant that you havegot into Dancing with the stars GR with your mum   I have watched a few of the American ones and I really enjoyed it. The only person I knew that you mentioned though was Tina Arena but I cant remember what she sang but I think it was a dance tune that was very popular. Glad you can join in on this thread, we can have it as Strictly and DWTS

13 weeks, yes, always a good innings! It gets drawn out for longer then my three week annual Tour De France!

Speaking of France, I think that is where Tina Arena became very popular. In Australia she was on the radio in the early '90's and then ventured over to Europe where she made her mark in the biggest way. My mum got her cassette (yes, really back in the day!) of her famous Australian album and I used to listen to it a little, it was quite good. Her big hit was Chains (she also had Sorrento Moon I think which was a nice song). Anyhoo, I will post a link.

A rather morbid song about love! Amazing voice. When I was a kid (or at least very emotionally immature) listening to this song I thought it was a reference to physically being locked up  Of course it is not.

And also Wasn't It Good, which was a lovely song.

So I've just listened to these other two songs too. A nice re-discovery of this nice singer!
