I thought this story may be linked to the other Hippo story I posted about a mum and baby being attacked but they are in different parts of Botswana or so I can make out.
It is very sad to see the distress this mother Hippo went through after the loss of her calf. Life in the wild can be so distressing.

Oh bless her, that poor mum & her baby, she looks totally heartbroken  Sad 

I think I called the wee calf a cow in the other Hippo thread, that of course is mum not the baby, Oooops  Embarassed
