The Wrekin Forest
Ancient Woodland, pasture and newer plantations, plus some recolonised mines and quarries. Close to the urban sprawl the Wrekin Forest is a refuge with stunning views from it's Iron Age hill fort. Some of the trees you can see, craggy oaks, mysterious yews, venerable rowans, guardian hollies and stately ash. Along with Fallow deer, Redwings and Woodcock.
