Re: Animal pictures of the week
You are right Lai, there are some fantastic ones there but also some very sad ones that yes make me want to cry as well, the trouble is the ones that make us want to cry are probably the ones that amuse others.

You are so right, some people will look at those and think great, i really hated the bear posing with the girl and yet she looked so pleased.
I guess people prefer not to think how/why in cases like that.

Re: Animal pictures of the week
Lai, the bear was one picture (although the chest fur and white ring of fur did arouse suspicions in me that the bear or photo may not be real, but that could just be my eyes)but there was also the beer drinking pictures and a few others. Do these people who find them amusing have no morals, no respect, no caring or just no inteligence to think outside the box that this may actually be wrong.
A lot of the pics are always from zoos but they are often just nice pictures and we have to accept that zoos are here, but, making a spectacle of animals or abusing them (loosely said) is hard to swallow.

Re: Animal pictures of the week
I think often people dont really think it through in the case of tourists etc. - of perhaps i prefer to think that rather than thinking that the human race is entirely bad and has no respect for animals.
On a different note i cant find it we have a BLES (ele) thread - but another rescue has been done by Katherine. That made me cry, she is such a star and another abused ele is safe.

I agree the bear and deer photos, not happy with!
I like the simple aspects of nature - such as the 136 catepillar train.

I emailed Katherine to get her permission to use some of her photos and text to start a new thread dedicated to BLES. Just awaiting her approval first.

Again some great photos and I especially like the wombat baby, and the hyena, (not cute I know but quite something as a pet).

Re: Animal pictures of the week
Thanks for posting Littlewid. Some stunning photos as you say, but those Chinese really make me they just have no idea that animals were not put on this earth to either perform for our so called entertainment or to have their bones/body parts used for so called medicine.
apologies I was about to go off on one ...................
I loved the penguin photo

The Penguin pic is gorgeous Lai, I also loved the owl pic there were so many stunning pics this time though.
The Chinese make me so very too, no respect, no compassion, no nothing......just blooming stupidity ( just keeping it clean)

Re: Animal pictures of the week
Totally agree with you both ladies, some amazing pictures in this lot - barr the goat with the monkey on it's back, bl**dy Chinese
That's the best piccy I've seen of the hairy Thomson Gazelle, he's very strange but very cute with it 'cause he is so different !
Favourite others the lions, the tigers, polar bear and the penguin

That is an amazing pic of the Hairy Thomson Gazelle Doogs, he is so cute isn't he, it's strange but I have thought about him alot since we saw his first pic and I so hope he stays safe and well.
The Chinese drive me bonkers and I so wish the world could change their attitude towards animals or I wish animals were allowed to fight back without repercussions to the ones that mistreat them.

Your welcome SM. I love these pictures, there are always a few that are not so cheery but on the whole they are usually really cute or have a nice story attached to them.
I loved the Tiger cub too
