Ali - Rainbow Bridge

Well it has been a hard time for us all the past couple of weeks but Ali has finally gone over to Rainbow Bridge 
She deteriorated badly on Monday, worse on Tuesday and we took the decision to put her to sleep on Wednesday. But Ali being Ali, who wasn’t very keen on the vet (it was amazing how horrible she was in there !) took things into her own paws and went peacefully, in no pain and at her own house yesterday morning.
Mum and dad have a lovely garden but it’s not got any depth to the ground so Ian and I said we would love to bury her in ours where there is plenty of room. So there she now lies, with a little posy of flowers on top of her and always there to keep an eye on us !
We are all absolutely heart broken but so pleased that things turned out like they did. Although desperately ill you feel guilty putting your animals sleep, her last bit of love for us was taking that decision away from us - she lifted an enormous weight off our shoulders doing that.
We all have so many lovely memories of her that will never be taken away. That beautifully cute face, the way she used to dance about in the living room when we came in, the tilting of her head when you spoke to her as though she actually understood what you were saying, the way her whole bum wiggled when she was wagging that little stump of hers and the mad 10 minutes she would have with her toys just after she’d eaten – I always used to laugh at her when she did that saying the e-numbers must be kicking in ! We loved her but boy did she love us back.

RIP Ali a truly special and beautiful dog.
Doogs I am just so sorry, you must all be heartbroken, Ali was such a gorgeous girl and will be missed so much by you all.

Doogs, I read with tears in my eyes. Im so so sorry to hear that.
I know Ali has had a difficult time but it hurts to lose a best friend.
She is now free from pain, god bless her.

I can't believe it's been a year today since we lost our gorgeous Ali. There's not a day goes by that I don't have a wee thought about her
I found this poem & think she would be saying this to me now A Simple Message From Your Pet, by Ken D. Conover

For all of the times that you stooped & touched my head, fed me my favorite treat & returned the love that I so unconditionally gave to you.
For the care that you gave to me so unselfishly.

What a beautiful poem Doogs, it makes you smile and cry at the same time and Ali will be pleased you posted it.
I have been thinking of you both today and sending lots of virtual love your way. A year passes so quickly doesn't it, it doesn't seem possible.
