Hope Rainbow Bridge

Hope!! We watched you being born, we watched you through your struggles when you got separated from Lily, we watched your re-union only for the same thing to happen again! We were overjoyed again when you were re-united and we were able to watch you in your den with Lily as she gave birth to two little cubs, Faith and Jason. We watched you play, groom and look after your siblings. We all mourned the loss of little Jason. We thought you would be safe during hunting season being with your mum and little sis and were looking forward to all the things that were to come.

I'm am so sorry you were taken from us and your lovely mum lily and little sister Faith. What a horrible way for a wonderful life to end. Hope you have done so so much for black bears along with Lily!! You have opened hundreds of thousands of people's eyes to what wonderful animals you are!

I am heartbroken you are gone, but I am so lucky and thankful that I was able to follow your little life from the start. Make sure you keep looking after your little brother Jason, bet he loves having you with him to play again.

I am praying your death wasn't it vain and that a law is passed in your memory to protect all research bears ... even the ones without collars, maybe with a different marking (bit of paint, anything)

Hope you are now a shining star in the sky! Miss you, love you, you will forever have a place in my heart!! Rest in Peace little Hopey!! You are safe now.

Wasn't sure where to post this, but there are some wonderful pictures of Hope and all the family just gorgeous. Enough to put a smile on my face, but still heavy in my heart.

Rest In Peace little baby Hope

Your resilience, your independence, your sense of fun, how you looked after your little brother and sister so gently and with such patience. They couldnt have asked for a better big sister to show them all the lovely things in the big wide world.

My enduring image of you is up a tree, making us all worry you will fall down but being so confident that you will always be safe

I think it's fine there AM, some happy moments to help us through her loss

Good night little Hope. We will miss you, but in your short life you brought so many people together from all corners of the world. We all watched your birth and watched as you survived being abandon. Now it is time for a long sleep.

We were with you when Jason sadly died
We were with you when you took Faith under your care.

Sadly Hope none of us could be with you
When you needed us most, but because of you. We will try to be there for all the little Bears that follow in your footsteps.

I fell in love with that picture as soon as I saw it. People talk about Animals having no feelings, you only have to look at that to see the Love of a Family, and the bond between them.

Thats very true WS. That picture certainly says a thousand words when it comes to an animals love. And I think the way Lily went looking for Hope says it all

Still makes me cry now!!
