Devon - Butterflies and Otters
A few of the beautiful butterflies we saw when we visited the Buckfast Butterfly Farm and Otter Sanctuary
This is the most stunning blue (when open) Morpho. I watched it on the orange for ages waiting for it to open it's wings but no luck and as soon as they land on anything they close up so I never got a photo of it sadly.
As I can't remember any of the names here's the link (well worth a visit if you're ever in Devon)

Otter to follow tomorrow.

Re: Devon - Butterflies and Otters
Oh My Goodness Lai, those are stunning photo's. They are so beautiful and the ones of the chrysalis are just so amazing. You sure know how to take a photo that makes you go WOW. I can't pick a favourite there as they are all so gorgous, it must have been fantastic to go round and see them all. Butterflys are just the most beautiful, delicate little things.
I had a look at the link and their site is lovely. I watched the Otter Podcast they change their podcasts regularly and the times of feeding are up on the site. It is well worth looking at them. The otters are so cute and can't wait to see your pics.

Lai they are absolute brilliant photos! My favourites are swallowtails. I think with that little extra on the wing they are dainter.

Re: Devon - Butterflies and Otters
Thanks everyone and yes WS I did take a few photos
So here are a few more for today ....
Plenty of Terrapin in the butterfly house
Another butterfly I forgot to post yesterday - I could have spent hours in there, except for the fact that it was like a rainforest and I was seriously hot
They have N American river otters, Asian short clawed otters and British or European otters. Sadly that morning the female British otter had died, cause unknown, so Tim the keeper was obviously a bit upset.
(Looks like he's having a good laugh)
I know i'm gorgeous but can't you just get on and feed me
They really are lovely animals and the idea is that where suitable they will be released back to the wild.

Thanks Lai those are really fantastic photos. Love the comments to. It reminds me of the Asian Otters we saw last year, they might have had babies by now. We must have a revisit with my new camera. Just love that Butterfly shot
