Richmond Eagles
Hello everyone! I've been watching the Decorah Eagles like everyone else, only to find out there is a nest right here in Va where I live. They had two eggs and both Eaglets are now almost two weeks old. Unlike the people in Decorah we do name our Eagles! The little ones have yet to be named but the proud mother and father are known as Virginia, for obvious reasons, and James (their nest is on the James River). Nothing like the crowd watching Decorah, but still quite magnificent, powerful birds.

Thanks for the link Ronnie. Just had a quick look and all peaceful on the nest, as it's night time. Definitely
one to watch and I love the fact the parents have names.

Re: Richmond Eagles
Thanks for the update WS. I was looking in earlier and the chatter was about hoping Dad would get back with food because the chicks were hungry. Glad to see he got the job done! The time difference here on the East Coast is now 5 hours, we had a time change a few weeks ago to Daylight Savings Time, but that would be lunch. It's now 6:15 here so should be 11:15 pm your time now.

Re: Richmond Eagles
Yes your right on the time Ronnie. We had a time change as well early hours of Sunday morning to British Summer Time our clocks went forward 1 Hr. I'm not sure how that all worked out, but you are now as you say 5Hrs behind us. When I watched the web cam the chicks were absolutly full, and could'nt eat anymore so the parent finished the fish off

Two more chicks to follow is great Ronnie, I do love following the little hatchlings. No time to check the cam this morning but will try and have a look this evening, if I start looking at both cams now work will go out the window and I will be late........very tempting to have a look though Thanks for posting the link to this little family.

Re: Richmond Eagles
Just checked in on the Richmond Eagle family and they are showing the chicks, I believe this is dad in the tree, he has a dark ring round his eye. Hopefully they will catch up with the Eaglets later.
Oooo now it wont let me post the picture, will try again later as I have been trying for ages now.

Re: Richmond Eagles
Great photos LW, they really are being looked after well with food, by the look of it. Difficult to tell if it's Mum or Dad from that angle

Re: Richmond Eagles
Managed to get this cam up between the terrible connection tonight. Not sure if this is mum or dad as it's very sunny and the head is too far away, but the eaglets are enjoying the sunshine tonight.

Re: Richmond Eagles
I did the same Ronnie. I do'nt know if you saw the photo that they had on, but I thought it was really funny, I'm going to try to add some words to it tomorrow. Thanks for the pic LW, the cams in a bit of an awkard position to get shots showing which adult is on the nest at the time.
