London Olympics - Day 7
A few photos from our visit to the Olympic stadium on day 7 of the Olympics. It was the first day of the athletics at the atmosphere in the stadium was electric. We were at the end with the high jump so great views of Jess and co.
We had great seats at the end of the stadium with the torch on our left
Joanna Lumley getting us all ready
This was outside the stadium and so clever, falling water every 5 seconds spelling out different words.
A very beautiful barge
Another clever effect. Above us as we walked under a bridge, a mirror, so when you look up and take a photo you are reversed. Please note our TeamGB T shirts )
The Olympic Stadium
Simply stunning flowers everywhere
One of our TeamGB hurdlers - 400m hurdles
Katarina Johnson-Thompson - TeamGB Heptathlon doing the high jump
Jess Ennis - TeamGB Heptathlon doing the high jump
These little Minis were used to bring the hammer back after the hammer throw - cool cars
Mens Steeplechase -
Greenwich Park and day 8 tomorrow.
Just had to come back and add 4 of Jess - showing her in action on the high jump
Sorry I just couldn't resist

Oh My Goodness Lai, those are fantastic and for someone who said she doesn't really do or hasn't done many action shots they are amazing. That one of Williams our hurdler is brilliant. Good old Jess, love her pics and also your sense of humour, even the best have an off moment. Katarina Johnson-Thompson is our next rising star in the Heptathalon, I thought she did brilliantly and she will so well at the next olympics.
How clever with the water thing and the Torch looks really specil in that photo, you really get the size of t in your photo which you dont really get on the TV. The flowers are beautiful and thats one thing the girl at work mentioned its all done like an english country garden.
Glad you posted pic of you and Pete, its a good fun shot and loving the T shirts.
It really does look a magnificent two days and i'm hoping you have pics of the showjumping

Re: London Olympics - Day 7
Thanks Littlewid. I agree about Katarina, she was brilliant too. In all honesty there was a lot going on in the stadium, never a dull moment, with the hammer being thrown, shot put, hurdles, steeplechase and high jump, sometimes I just had to sit and take it all in.
The longest queues were not to get in, we walked 25 mins from West Ham tube having been told there were long queues at Stratford and got in straight away, the queue in the shop was not too bad, although they ran out of everything almost, the queues for the ladies were okay but the worst queue of all was for the food ..... in fact we waited until about 2pm when they had run out!!! But I did get a pint of pimms
I'll post a few showjumping ones tomorrow.

Lai, they are absolutely fantastic pictures, love them
The Olympic Torch looks very impressive so close up. Your action shots are just amazing, well done for capturing so many special moments with really good, clear pictures, really gives you a feeling of what it must have been like there.
How wonderful to get some shots of Jess just look at the muscles on her

Re: London Olympics - Day 7
Brilliant pics Lai thanks its great to see what the stadium looks like from close up. Love the sequence shot of Jess doing the high jump, glad you came back to put it on. I read about the Mini Minis in the paper carrying the javalins, and shot puts, and its great to be able to see them. The atmosphere there must have been fantastic to experience something never to forget. Looking forward to the Greenwich Park pics, especialy now we've got Gold in the Dressage
