Neglected moggy feeling purrfect again after being found seriously ill and with mass of matted fur

Moggy was found abandoned in box on side of road in July with horrendously matted fur and teeth rotting away
He was rushed to Well Animal Clinic in north London, where vets sheared him like a sheep and rehydrated him
Sadly, they also had to pull out most of his teeth and wire his fractured lower jaw back together after years of neglect
After weeks of recovery and a new jumper to keep him warm, he's now happy again after being adopted by the vet
Vet, Christian Le Van, said 'The transformation has been amazing - he's become a real celebrity at the practice'

Poor little Matt, what a pickle he was in. So cruel to let a cat get in that state and it was down to his owners because he was dumped in a box, he wasn't a stray who got into a mess. Persians are adorable cats, very affectionate and full of personality but they do need grooming every day as their fur is incredibly thick and there is no way they can stop themselves from matting. He must have been in such pain with the matts on his skin and also his fractured jaw and teeth, what a little fighter he is. He is so handsome and the vet who lookedafter him and then gave him a forever home needs applauding
