Re: Our Feeding Stations :):)
Oh boy, more stunning pictures safariman, how I would love a little Greenfinch like that to visit my feeder and I adore the photo of the Blue Tits, to me that is a cracking photo, and I must say, I am never too sure why lots of people don't like Pigeons, I know people see them as messy pests but if you truely look at them they are beautiful and their colourings are just gorgeous and I think they have really pretty faces, I don't believe they are as loved as they should be.
I have had plenty of juvenille starlings in my garden and although they do seem to ravage all the food I do really like them, that is a wonderful photo of his adult feathers coming through.
From you, Lai, WS & Doogs we have some really special photographs, you all have the midas touch with cameras and taking photos and I truely love seeing them all.
Funnily enough my first camera was a Box Brownie but not the very first ones, my Dad and Uncle both worked for Kodak so over the years I have seen their cameras change and I recently had to clear my uncles house and the amount of cameras through the years and photographic equipement that belonged to him and my dad was just amazing. I suppose I should be a better photographer myself and I keep promising myself a better camera and one day I will upgrade but I do love my little digi cam and for me it is all about capturing the moment and enjoying what that moment meant, it would be a thousand times better if my pics were good but capturing what I do take makes me smile anyway but I am always eager to see photos from others who do take stunning photos, so the more that you, Lai, WS & Doogs post just makes me
Look forward to seeing more of your safari ones.

with photo's like that safariman you can forgive him for sticking his tongue out, they are stupendous ( tried to think of an apt word for them).Loving the little red feathers on his chest just coming through and also the last one, apart from capturing his tongue I love the detail of his whispy feathers, just brilliant.

Good shot PPH, it's difficult to get those overhead shots. Bit difficult tell what it is but I think it could be a Great Tit

Early morning visitor to my bird feeder.
There are also numerous spiders webs around at this time of year and if the sun is in the right place they provide great opportunities for photos so that you can admire their incredible engineering and beauty.

I am not a lover of Spiders safariman but I do love those shots of the webs, they are so intricate arent they and it always amazes me how quick they can make those webs. Your pics have really captured the detail haven't they, they really are a work of art. I am now going to be looking for webs in my garden and trying to snap them as well.
What a beautiful visitor to your garden, two wonderful pictures especally the first one with the nut in the beak, so brilliant Safariman.

Two lovely shots of the Blue Tit Safariman, the detail is fantastic. Love the shots of the cobwebs, I keep meaning to get some of cobwebs when there's rain, or dew on them,. I've seen some shots in the past, and they look really good

Lovely visitors Safariman, one is a Blue Tit and is the other Robin? Excuse me if I am wrong but I have not seen one with such an orange/yellow chest before so maybe its another bird that I am being a bit dumb about
They are stunning pictures that show of the little birds so beautifully. I reckon they were a rel delight to see in your garden this morning and thanks for sharing them, they have made me smile this evening.

I think Mrs S might be feeding some of our Birds a bit to much. This one's getting on the large side

Re: Our Feeding Stations :):)
Was that Percy WS? Good to know that Mrs S is feeding all the bird visitors
We had a Kestrel or a Sparrowhawk (most likely Sparrowhawk) fly by the day before yesterday I couldn't see which as it was fast but the little birds knew it was around and had moved from the feeders a few moments before. I said to Pete there must be a raptor around as the whole place was suddenly deserted and then whosh there it went .... happy to say no little birds caught!
Also Gympy our lame Buzzard was on the snow eyeing a mole hill for some time yesterday as we drove by - he was so intent on looking at it he didn't mind the car going passed, I was so close I could have reached out and touched him

It's just got an extra layer WS to keep it warm in this cold weather
Loved the inquisitive look on the dogs face peeping over the wall near the end :)
Hope Gympy's patience was rewarded with something to eat Lai

Doogs - I hope it wasn't a mole! He flew over earlier today but didn't call into the garden whilst I was topping up the bird feeders - must try and get a photo.

Wonderful to see Percy again WS and better to be a bit plumper in this weather than on the skinny side I to loved the dog peeking over the wall, hope he didn't chase Percy
How lovely to have either a Kestrel or a Sparrowhawk Lai and even better none of the little birds got caught by it, I know they have to eat but thats sad to think about.
Brilliant that Gympy is still wandering around and it would be great if you could get a photo, fancy being that close that you could have touched him I hope you don't have Moles either, your poor lawn if you do
