Moles by the hundreds Littlewid. It's a problem for us and I like them so won't have them trapped. It does cause an issue with some of my team who think the lawns should look perfect for the weddings etc but I love those little moles and boy are they taking advantage of me and my liking for them

Good on you Lai, I wouldn't have them trapped either, I think they are rather lovely and I think a bumpy lawn adds character No doubt they are taking advantage but on the other hand I m sure they do apprecite they are left alone to live their lives in a safe environment .......as long as Gympy leaves them alone

Percy is quite safe, the Dog is called Ellei she's lovely thing and the farm Dog. She's know Percy for years, and does'nt bother him, and niether do the two farm Cats Molly, and Hamish. They all get on with each other fine . We had a Raptor a couple of months ago, I have'nt seen it, but I suspect its a Buzzard. We had 8 Collered Doves, and I know to three kills, since then our feeders have been really quiet all the Birds vanished, and we were only filling the seed up once every two weeks instead of twice a week. They have only just started coming back with the cold weather. At the time I saw a Buzzard just down the lane in a tree at the side of the road a few times, and I think it must have been that one, unfortunately I could'nt get a photo as it was on a dangerous corner.
I'm glad Gimpys OK, and Buzzards have to live so we just have to accept their behavour. Glad you like the Moles Lai. Just a though to keep your team happy, get them to place just married flags on top of each of the Mole hills, I think it would look really welcoming

WS - that's a good idea! In the snow they look quite interesting really. Gympy likes worms and often when the grass has been cut in the summer he is seen picking up worms and bits and pieces so he wasn't really after the mole just checking out the hill.

He's obviously staked that as his territory PPH and was a ungry little Robin this morning. It's a lovely picture and again I am amazed at how much snow you still have.

We've had a few flurries throughout today but nothing major. We're due some more on Friday but most of what we have is still left over from last Friday as the temps haven't risen above freezing and the flurries have been topping up any that melt or are plowed away.
The temps are due to rise above freezing for the weekend and I hope is does as there is a big lot of rain on its way over here for the weekend and I'd rather it be rain than snow

Great shot PPH, Robins are really friendly we have two at the moment so clearly a Male, and Female. One even stayed on the wall where we put seed as we went out yesterday morning, and did'nt bother. We still have snow where we live as we are just above the snow line, but 10 mins away lower down its all gone, although it looks like we are due for some more on Friday. Mrs S saw aBlack & White Blackbird feeding here, she got a couple of pics on her phone, but I need to see if I can get them onto my PC. Unfortunately I was working at the Pub at the time so could'nt get them on my camera, but hopefully it will be back.

PPH - nice to see your Robin visiting. Funny how many Robins are coming into the feeders at the moment, they don't normally visit us at all but since the snow they've been around the feeders all the time.

Re: Our Feeding Stations :):)
Fingers crossed you will be able to transfer the photo's WS, that would be lovely to see.
Robins are lovely little birds aren't they. A strange story, my mum had never had a Robin in her garden all the years they had lived there but the day my Brother died one appeared in her garden and she has had one that visits ever since, it's obviously not the same Robin as it would be too old but it's strange thats when she got her first Robin and they have been constant ever since. It may just be a coincidence but we have a special little place for Robins in our hearts.

That's a lovely story LW, and it must be very special to both your Mum, and yourself, and a lovely reminder of your Brother. It must make you feel he's still watching over your Mum

An unusual visitor to my bird table this morning. A male Black Cap, (the female has a brown cap!!). It would seem that they are now overwintering in the UK, possibly due to climate change, but a very welcome visitor.

Great shot Safariman. We had one at the last place we lived 4 Yrs ago, and Mrs S was sure she saw one here last week, but could'nt get a photo of it. From her description I'm sure it was a Male Black Cap

Nice capture Safariman, not a bird I've seen around here. Lovely to see different birds visiting.

Great shots of Frizal, and the Long Tailed Tits Lai. Sadley our Long Tailed Tits seem to have left us , but quite a large group of the Sparrows are back . I've seen 5 Buzzards today, and although I had my Camera with me, I was'nt in a position to get a shot

Oh MY, sorry I missed your photo of the Male Black Cap Safariman, i'm not sure how I missed him, he is so wonderful isn't he, it really does look like a black skull cap he has on.
I ownder with the change in climate everyhere, if we will get to see more birds that don't normally come this way?
He may not be Fizal Lai but he is certainly a stunner isn't he, just gorgeous and the little Long Tailed Tits are so sweet, they are tiny aren't they and their faces are beautiful. I'm glad the sun came out today and you got your camera out

Thanks WS and Littlewid. We find the same thing WS the birds come and go, and I imagine our Long Tailed Tits will go back to the woods soon, it's not often they come into the garden which is why I was so thrilled to get a photo or two.
You're so lucky having Sparrows, I am really hoping we might get some as we've planted a new hedge so fingers crossed for the future.
Shame you didn't have your camera for the buzzards WS - they are my favourites and we're so lucky to have them here. We had one in the apple tree but no time to get the camera before he flew off!
I think you're right Littlewid, we're going to see all sorts of different birds visiting the UK.
