These great photos were sent to us by recent Little Governors guest Darrell Davison. Darrell wrote to us saying "We Canadians cannot give Little Governors’s camp enough praise. It was a magical stay!! We saw an incredible variety of wild life compared with Tanzania. Although we have hundreds of excellent pictures, we wanted to share these with you. Perhaps for your wall of fame."https://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.543518202327072.129522.127029937309236&type=1

"Not your every day Christmas...these photo's were taken on Christmas morning and waiting for us just as we drove out of camp was a black backed jackal. We went on to see the Marsh Pride Cubs and vast quantities of elephants and Zebra. But to finish Christmas perfectly, just as we were about to turn around and go back to camp, Robert spotted a Cheetah, way in the distance lying down after just finishing her Christmas lunch" . . . .

These photo's were taken between the 22nd and the 27th of December. During this time we regularly found the Marsh Pride all together, including all 4 musketeers and all the cubs. The reason for this being that they had between them killed a buffalo and so were always found around the carcus. While Scar Face, Sikio, Moran and Hunter spent most of their time asleep the cubs didn't waste a minute play fighting with each other (and dad if they felt brave enough), sharpening their teeth on the buffalo horn, and exploring. We will post as soon as we know the genders of all the cubs.

This morning was a good morning with fantastic viewing of the large cats: Behind Il Moran on the edge of the woodlands facing lake Nakuru Morani and Scar had Killed a Zebra yesterday, this morning at 7.30am we saw a spotted Hyena looking intent following its gaze we saw the Il Moran male Leopard scavenging off the remains of this Zebra Kill, after a few minutes he was chased and Mobbed by a troop of male Baboons. This male Leopard now has a scratch on his nose so he has had a fracas with another male leopard. Near the airstrip scar was mating with one of the Marsh Lionesses and so was Hunter. Yesterday there are three lionesses all being mated at the same time, also yesterday Scar and Morani were occupied elsewhere near lake Nakuru and Hunter who was near Bila Shaka was servicing three lionesses, today he has two and Scar the one. Note the lioness that scar is mating with has chipped lower canines. Near the entrance to the airstrip all nine cubs were in a drainage ditch and one of the younger lionesses was near the Calvert, she killed a male impala and dragged it towards where the cubs where. Further up near the top end of the airstrip there was a cheetah who had killed a grants Gazelle. Eurasian Bee eaters are about in large flocks.

Re: Goveners Camp Masai Mara
Moran has really grown, how fantastic to see him now he is 1 Yr old, after the start in life he had. Some great pics there, and it looks like the new Marsh Pride Males are really busy sowing their genes for the future of the Pride

Re: Goveners Camp Masai Mara
Think the Marsh Pride lion numbers are going to multiply rather rapidly with the four males sowing their seeds Only a good thing though for the lion numbers / population

Yesterday Bibi was seen carrying one cub and the other two following her as they moved from Bila Shaka towards the airstrip. Early this morning at 1.00am we had a huge rainstorm. This morning at 8.00am Charm, Siena and Bibi were all at lake Nakuru feeding off a large male waterbuck. Charm took great interest in Bibi's cubs and Siena was a little uneasy to begin with, by 10.00am she had sobered up considerably. All in all there were 12 happy cubs all interacting with one another. One of Bibi's cub is a character and likes playing by using its teeth and claws as can be seen on Bibi's back and Charms tail. Bibi's top right canine has a large gap between the incisors and this could have been an accident involving her mouth some time ago.https://www.facebook.com/lynn.healey.3?ref=tn_tnmn#!/media/set/?set=a.548390241839868.130392.127029937309236&type=1

These photo's were taken yesterday morning with the lion's still feeding on the dead elephant. On our way back to camp we also came across some more elephants on their way to mourn.

Lai but if it died naturally (hope it did but not sure, someone did ask on one of the photos) then it's a good meal for the lions etc

These photo's were taken yesterday evening when we went to see how the elephant carcass was. All the Lions have now left it, and the Hyenas and the vultures have all moved in. The Serval Cat we spotted on the way to the elephant, but, as is their nature, was very shy.https://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.551967814815444.130927.127029937309236&type=1
