Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
It was lovely to see Faiths Fledge again WS, she kind of thought about it but when she went it was just like she went without meaning too, a split second kind of action.
Wonderful to see sandy again and what a difference a day makes, I know she is a day older than faith but she is much bigger now, faith looked quite tiny next to her last night.
I am going to have a peek to see if there is any action in the garden tonight.

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Mr P hasn't moved the cam just yet, it is still on the nest but sign of any of our little Hummers but as the cam is still focusing on the nest I can only presume that Sandy and Faith are still returning to the nest occassionally.

Sandy popped back to the nest three times last night. This was the last time just as it was going dark

Thanks WS, that was lovely to see. Mr P has now moved the cam but I cant see any sign of our Hummer family at the moment.

Good to Sandy WS, she was looking about there on the nest as though she was taking it all in for the very last time

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Thanks LW I will have a look later, they may be around then as it will start being time to roost. Joplin another of Phoebes babys holds the record for returning to the nest after fledge at 21 times, I have a feeling Sandy may have come close to beating that, and I will try to check

Phoebe has started her second clutch. The first egg was laid today, the second should be tomorrow. Then she will start incubating.

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Phoebe is back on the nest and doing quite bit of tail wriggling, so who knows she may be near laying her next egg. I hope she does have two healthy chicks again Lai, it would be lovley.

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Thats a nice pic Lai and lovely she has turned round, we both got her facing the other way earlier, must have been having a shy moment.....not like Phoebe at the moment I can still only see one egg and no reports of a second as yet.

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Just checked, and there is stilll only one egg. Phoebe just came in for a visit, and then flew off again. She wont start incubating the eggs untill the second one is laid. I will check later to see if there's any change. Its 8hrs behind us at Phoebes. Thanks for the pics LW, and Lai

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Just had a last check, and there's still only one egg. It's now 2 days since the first, and the longest between eggs has been 3 days, so hopefully we'll get the 2nd tomorrow. Only once before has there been one, and that was in 2007, when Phoebe Cam first started streaming

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Thanks for checking WS, and so late too! lets hope there is a second egg today. If there is only going to be one egg then that chick will get well fed and have the nest to itself but on the down side, it wont have anyone to snuggle up to when Phoebe isn't there and no company. I suppose there is good and bad about being the only chick. We will have to wait and see what happens later.
