I have the den cam running in the background at work, I like listening to the sounds coming from the den. I find them relaxing!!

Thanks for all the updates guy's, I have been lacking on keeping up to date. I am so pleased that the whole family is getting along and that Hope is still welcome and is actually becoming a big sister. I hope that all stays well for them all and it will be wonderful to see them all emerge from the den together when the time is right.

That was just so brilliant WS, thank you so much for posting that. The cubs are adorable, they are so tiny aren't they, it's hard to imagine they grow into such huge animals. Hope is so wonderful and I am just so delighted they are all living happily together, they look just the most idilyic family.

Fantastic that she has had more cubs and without going back and reading everything on here - is it usual for a bear to take her older cub (obviously in Lily's case, Hope) into the den when she is giving/given birth ? So once the new cub(s) are born she would have two differents sets of cub/cubs ?

I've still got the 3 part Gordon Buchanan programmes on my Sky Planner - another Embarassed

'cause I've not watched it yet but hoping to maybe watch that tonight.

I know this isn't Lily, Hope and the cubs but it's two of the male bears Ted and Lucky.

14-year-old Ted and his friend Lucky (4) had other dens to choose from at the North-American Bear Center near Ely, Minnesota, USA, but they chose to den together.

All summer, these two males played together in their 2 acre forest and pond. In November they worked together to rake leaves, moss, and grass into this den for bedding. Now, they mostly sleep - sometimes apart, sometimes snuggled up together. When sleeping apart, Ted has awakened and stolen some of Lucky's bedding. Later, when Lucky tries to steal it back, he makes a plaintive whine as if asking fro permission from Ted, one of the largest black bears on record.

Count their breaths as their chests rise and fall. Ted is the one snoring. Compare the inactivity of these two males with the activity of Lily, Hope and Lily's new cubs. This is our first Den Cam with Ted and Lucky, so we're all learning together.
